Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Moved one thin spacer down, raised the handlebars on the Cervelo about 8 mm. Surprisingly small adjustments do make a noticeable difference in bike fit, and it never fails to amaze me.

To say that it's in the works is to imply that you are actually working to attain one. Hard to do that without a job

One of the club road Nazis does bike fits & has lots of happy customers. It's $275 for the first bike and $137.50 for the second. Worth it?

Bikes: Have two wheels

I have a "flat" course that has 1300 ft of elev gain and an 11% grade hill. It's all in the last 4 miles.

I also live on a hill, but it's no Mt. Doom.

So THAT'S why I can't shift in to the small chainring - the FD cage is broken! Damn. Oh well, no obvious signs of my neglect/incompetence, so it should be under warranty....

that is so strange. I did that with my 2 road bikes and they are identical. I even tried measuring but that's quite difficult to be precise. I swear the distances are identical but on one i get lower back pain after 3 hours and the other I can ride 7+ with no pain.

See, now I rode 48 miles this AM, 29 miles just now (double session today, haven't done that in a while) and I have so many endorphins running through my bike weenie brain that even if coasting, Gomer and banerjek formed a Fred Critical Mass resulting in a violent Fredtonation, it wouldn't phase me.

And seeing how the whole racing thing was Utter Fail for 2010, I have decided that 12K miles is doable. Stupid Road Nazis. I'll show them. I have a couple of races left in me yet anyway.
