Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: Velo Volmobile

I'm very helpful. I answered more cycling questions yesterday than the 33 answers in a week.

i agree with you. the downloads with all the details is interesting initially though. After a few times I just revert to looking at the average, max, min. My previous cheapy from the supermarket was just the very basic stuff and i wouldn't have got a new one if i hadn't lost it. Since I decided to get one I thought i might as well get one with heart rate cadence and altitude. More stuff to look at is worth paying for but all the fancy analytical computer stats stuff would be wasted on me.

I wear my heart strap always. There are days that I think I'm working, but when I look at my heart rate, I can see I am just wussing. So it helps me to work harder than I feel like at times. Also, if you do the same ride a lot, you will find that it is very easy to get a little faster without working as hard. If you push your heart rate to a certain number each time, you will get even faster.

Having the ability to save my rides on the pc is very cool. We take our bikes camping, so if I go back to a place, I can look up the rides from the previous time and ride it again, or know to not ride it if I didn't like it. It's all there on the map. And, you can compare rides, so if you went to the mountains the next year, you could compare your same rides to see how much more or less you suck.

Because all of that stuff really makes very little difference.

Evelyn rides an Addict by the way. Just sayin'.
Just to remind you, Evelyn dropped me on the Nyack Ride on the Hook. So tell the morons in the 33 I've been dropped by faster girls than them (she's probably faster than all the idiots in the 33 by the way).
Not by choice. Just sayin'.

It's a velocity. Sealed bearings, light, and the recommendation of my shop's wheel builder.

'Going out of business' in this context means getting booted from the E.U. which would entail a return to the drachma. The best thing that could happen for Greece (and the E.U.) in the long run.

Let's hope the deficit hawks don't Hooverize us into the Great Depression II in the meantime.
