Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Very true. The sex offender registry is littered with people with similarly stupid situations that either didn't have counsel or got some bonehead DA so empowered with his position that he lost sight of what justice actually means.

The criminal justice system sucks. Power corrupts.

I didn't bring it. Apparently my Garmin paired with someone else's for a little bit. It's just one lap of that circuit. It's this Thursday night ride https://abrtcycling.com/content/training-rides

For racing. Either way, 30 mm rims that are black w/o stickers look bad ass on here.

Hey Pcad,

When are you going to Greece? Will you be travel "blogging" about your experiences?
I thought Greece filed Chapter 11 and went out of business.

LMAO...doesn't this forum come with a warning label?

I feel really fat this morning. I know nothing has changed over night but somehow the feeling of fatness seems to be unrelated to real fatness.

I think I'll skip lunch.

Sequels and remakes suck. Trust me on this.

Gordon Gekko rides a Cervelo.

Yesterday evening when I was riding round the park, I realised that that was the only place I could ride in London without start stop and without bumper to bumper traffic so bad that you can't even weave around with superior bike handling skills. Either that or my bike handling skills are poor. I tried riding before rush hour, late morning, lunchtime, afternoons. Never a pleasure. People who commute must think cycling is a real chore.

Seems odd that people talk about wall streeters being into cycling. It is so time consuming I wonder how they find time to ride regularly.

Back on topic.

My computer arrived this morning but I looked at all the bits and pieces and thought what a hassle; I can't be bothered to fit it. I should clean the bike before fitting too and that's another annoyance. I'm done with washing bikes. It is a pointless exercise just like trying to teach a dog to speak swahili.

Evelyn Stevens, now the USA Pro Women's TT Champ, is an ex Wall Streeter. She started cycling two years ago @ age 24. Cat 5 to top pro in the USA in two years. That's progress. Maybe they can write a Bicycling Mag article about how you can do that too.

Evelyn rides an Addict by the way. Just sayin'.

Just to remind you, Evelyn dropped me on the Nyack Ride on the Hook. So tell the morons in the 33 I've been dropped by faster girls than them (she's probably faster than all the idiots in the 33 by the way).

maybe not all...there are a few 1s and 2s there that I am sure would give her problems...maybe not in a TT but in a race.

Commuting is a real chore, whether you're on a bike or in a car. That's why I gave it up.
