I'll be burning a few kJ's tomorrow you stupid Freds. Soon I will be hauntingly gaunt. Then you'll all be sorry.

I'll be sorry if you come down here for a 4 race and beat me (lakehurst possible?https://www.bikereg.com/events/regist...?eventid=10258). If this is not possible we will need to wait till this winter when I buy a ptap and compare ewangs in that arena of course there my additional lbs will help me.

You're either eating like a horse to satiate your hunger, or you're simply building lean muscle mass, which is my excuse. The pants don't lie, so I know I'm burning fat, even if the scale hasn't moved much since last year.

excellent advice. after riding with a computer for the first time after quite a long time, it was distracting.

i think i need to cut my food down. I suspect, that muscle gain and no fat loss is to blame. Maybe i should do some really low heart rate long slow rides in the fat burning zone.

Look folks, I have peacock issues. Damnit they are beautiful birds, but wow are they ever annoying! Neighbors down the gulch apparently let loose a pair, which has turned into at least 6. This is their mating season, so the females wander around looking for places to roost and the males are on the hunt. Both males (peacock) and females (peahen) are noisy as all get out, any time day and night. They are as large as turkeys, have better eyesight, they can run fast, and they can fly. Once they establish a feral community, they're almost impossible to get rid of. It remains to be seen if they can survive all the coyotes around here though. Once the local coyotes figure out how to effectively hunt and capture one, and they will, the peacock numbers will no doubt thin dramatically.
Here's what I hear echoing through the canyon, and sometimes right outside my window.

Just did one of my regular rides. 20 miles and has 6 hills that are all 6-10%, but mostly are 7%, but only 1300 feet of climbing. I only averaged 16.5 mph.
I've found that my break even grade to speed ratio is 7% at 7mph. God do I suck.

pcad I am getting lighter 3 days in a row under 200. my predicament comes in the form of my thighs. They are pretty big in general and very big proportionally. I wear the same size pants I did like 35 lbs ago because they fit my thighs, but I only have like 2 belts left that fit. this isn't a problem with short obviously so I literally wear 2 and 4 inch smaller waist shorts than pants.
Should I treasure my thighs or curse their lack of proportionality?
Also my wife gave me crap about not needing to lose weight yesterday, is she full of baloney?

You might suck, sure, but that's not terrible. I'm guessing you've been keeping track of your times on that route. What's your best time?

Nonsense. Just look at Pcad. He obviously has done something different this year because he's positively anorexic. Maybe he cut back on Domino's pizza. Sometimes it's as simple as that one change in your regular diet.

I was 198 at my heaviest. That kind of snuck up on me, I had been about 185 for ever. When I saw 198, I said no way will I let myself get to 200. My wife had started to get into shape a few years earlier, and I really liked the results. I figured I owed the same to her. So, I started to eat more of what she ate and got on my bike. Dropped down to 180 the first year, 175 the next, and am now at 168. I'm ok with where I am at, but will shoot for 165 max at any given time. It's not really hard, just takes dedication. I also have stones, so I have to drink a lot. That has helped as much as anything. That and seriously reducing processed carbs. I'm lucky that I don't have a sweet tooth, made it a lot easier.

I don't think you should be allowed under 9% bf and be overweight, but that is just me. However it is my goal for the next year.
I am eatting Jersey Shore salt water taffy as I write.
