Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The heat index is still over 100F.

I'm delaying my non-century ride.

Your weight loss comment was pretty funny.

I had no weight obsessiveness until this place either. Now I want to look prepubescent.

Speaking of weight loss, I'm about to overeat. And I'll probably have at least one sopapilla after overeating.

I'm a fatso.

Two of my lunches this week were salads.

I've realized that a lack of carbs makes me cranky.

That's all.

i started dinner tonight with a donut...I then proceeded to the sandwich, then finished up with the soup. I am now eating skittles after putting together the wife's elliptical.

Being skinny isn't fun. I am trying to get thicker. I eat every time I can and can't put on a pound, even during the winter when I don't ride.

I eat 8000+ calories a day.

At your age calories get burned up if the wind blows.

But one day . . . . . . . .

one day . . . . . . . . .

I think coasting was on to something here--it's a great night for a ride.

Only problem is that it's dark.

This hill was on our ride today. It was kinda fun to go up it "quickly" and nearly vomit, but I don't really get why anyone would pay $22 for the privilege.

So on the Park Ridge today, I turned to Rick after he and I led the bunch up the pathetic 500 meter 3-4% grade 'hill' on the course and said:

'Hey Rick, our torrid pacemaking on the climb was pointless.

Alphonse is still here.'

Terrified of you? Do you look that fat in lycra? I mean I know you look fat, but... really that fat?

Something like that.

They see me when I'm going off on Pcaddette once in a while. She can really piss me off. She's 16. That's her job.

I assume most people (especially kids) view cyclists who ride thousands of miles a year as being somewhat disturbed. Here crazy is a virtue; in the real world, not so much.

I'm pretty sure there is a crotch shaver that frequents this thread that could help you with that.
