I'm going to go donate some spare parts to a local bike organization a little later. I see they have a Kona Stinky. Who doesn't want a Stinky? I'm tempted, but 'cross must come first.

I'm hoping to find some other road saddles there though.

is this like a bike swap place? thats a good idea. i want to swap my crappy spare stem and spare saddle that hurts my ass for something i might use.

It is a city sponsored youth bike organization that helps kids get bikes that they can work on and maintain themselves. They get some money from the city as well as sell fixed up bikes to stay open. Kids get to work there, build up a bike for themselves, and keep it. Sometimes they are real nice, like the Kona which they are selling, and a friend of mine went there and got a Yeti for free just by working on it.

Speaking of bike schwag, while I was at the shop I was checking out the Ksyrium Elites and SL wheelsets which I've been considering....pcad do you still have those Ksyriums you were looking to offload when you got your Addict?

I'm 211 lbs at 6'4" . . . . not bad for an old dude . . . just miss "normal" range by 5 pounds.

I think that will be my mission to get rid of before winter.

Sold. I suggest you spring a couple of more bucks and go for the D.A. 2850CL wheels, PBK and Wiggle sell them for like $750-$800 per set. They are so much nicer than the Mavics it's ridiculous.

Same here. I've been +/- 10 or 12 lbs since high school. I'm trying to get under my high school weight, but it isn't working.

I miss the days when I could spend $10 at McDonalds and lose 2 pounds.

I thought the same thing.

Dare to dream.

I just spent the lunch hour at one of the upper-end bike shops in town. Owner had a stable of sweet options, but chose, as his personal ride, a Time RXR with Di2 and a SRM. Might have been the nicest bike I've seen in person.

$6600 for the frameset with a Time stem and carbon bars. That's just stoooopid money.

But I want one.

Is anyone "subscribed" to this thread?

The red module (non-VIP) was $3,400 +/- during the winter PBK 10% off coupon stacked with 15% cashback on frames/bikes. One does not normally buy a bike like that for the warranty.

Nothing is stopping you from getting it. Hopefully, getting that bike is not your highest aspiration.

I'm dumb but I'm not that dumb.

If I get down to my high school weight (135 lbs) I'll be terminally ill.

Thanks, mom.

BF is a lovely place where random strangers can assist you with your life goals and aspirations. After today's BF experience, I now realize how misdirected I've been all these years.

sbxx1985 07-23-10 01:50 PM

Thanks for the pbk info, though.
