I noticed that Jen has 170ish views of her profile already, after only joining in July.

That's what she gets for being 1 of 3 women on the forum I guess.

Yikes. I've been here a week.

I really think that the fall of the English language is the beginning of the end. Actually, someone more famous than even pCad said something to that effect.

You guys make me laugh...

If it makes you feel any better, I'm not one of the 170ish.

(Chicks dig indifference)

;)

I have a car.... No license to drive it.

Seems like you two need to get to know each other better.

Yeah dude! I can have your car, and since I have a license...

I'll be able to drive it.

I bet he'd trade it for a Madone.

Oh, by the way, yesterday, I rode from Chester to Hudson Terrace (Fort Lee, it was 58 miles one way on the back roads, it's shorter on the highway) where my wife met me for our trip into Manhattan to tour NYU. So I'm riding down 9W on a Saturday morning, which I never do, and I really was taken with what a Bike Weenie Expressway it has become. Even though I was heading south against the flow, there were still plenty of Freds to chase down and pass, one after another, like some bizarro form of FredPac-Man . Finally, I got one Fred pissed off, and he stormed past me on his Cervelo TT bike, which was perfect, because I was running late, and I sucked his Fast Fred wheel 5 miles all the way to Tenafly (I pulled up to him and asked him if he minded, he said no problem).

It was Big Fun.

I lived in that area for many years (Hillsdale, NJ) and trained up there regularly from 1990-1997. The increase in Bike Weenie traffic up there is exponential. Very cool.

I'm usually out and about well before the masses show up, but on the mornings when I do go later it is impressive to see how many riders hit 9W to enjoy the riding so I agree that it is indeed impressive. Speaking of people on TT bikes, last week I had a guy latch on to my wheel when I was heading southbound on my usual weekday routine which means I'm going at a good clip so I can make it back to shower and get ready for work. So he tried to attack on the descent by the CNBC building and for some reason that got my competitive blood going so I decided to give the legs some more action; I went up to 41mph at which point it looked like he had enough so I slowed down and we chatted up for a bit. I was hoping to latch on to his wheel for a bit but just as I was about ready to do so he tells me he's going to take it easy....<<sigh>>

i assume this was the guy in the Zephyr kit? That's one fast dude. You were great mixing it up with them in the front on the way to the orchard. But yeah, it'd have been horrible had i gone back with you, though at least i would have gone faster.

Yep, Murray...that was him. It's interesting to see Zephyr's graffiti tag on a cycling kit because I remember seeing his tags up all over the city when he was still in the graf scene. I'll let you know next time they're heading up to Nyack in case you want to come along, they had mentioned you're more than welcome to come along the next time. Oh and thanks, I'm just glad I still had the energy to keep up with them on the way back especially when losing the wheel wasn't an option.

How is it "falling"? How does this bring the "end"?

You know vol, I answered your derailleur question, and you just ignored it.

Velo Gator 08-01-10 07:10 PM

At some point I need to learn how to remove my pedals.
