Obviously we're on to a different topic here but let's step back for a sec.
Of course the generation gap has a lot to do with it, but to me the bike looks way classier with these wheels. The zipps just aren't doing it on this bike -- too gawdy. Zipps look better on a gawdy frame, like the Cervelo for instance.
But that's just me.

True enough, but the zipps don't help them out any.

I agree, although it doesn't look too bad on pcad's Scott. The new Ultegra may be described as the bauhaus version of the older DA 7800, but really it's more the Bizarro Superman version - at least when it comes to looks.
Every time Colorado Cyclist puts their remaining stock of DA 7800C (the carbon clad 7800), I have to talk myself out of buying one. Classic Campy designs aside, it's the pinnacle of crank design and performance.

Must have been a nice Christmas bonus this year.
This will likely be the first time I've ever actually asked why anyone needs another bike...but really...this is pretty much the same bike as the Cervelo.
The only real difference is marketing and labeling.
Now that you have 2 pro-peloton level road bikes, and a hardtail MTB, you need to get: A full-suspension MTB, and a nice cross bike, and then you can start really fredding out by adding a touring bike, and some form of internal gear hub commuter job. After that you can fully immerse yourself in a (late) mid-life crisis by purchasing some horribly color coordinated fixed gear bike and some skinny jeans to go with it.
Imagine the possibilities.

I wonder if it's even possible for an individual to order from them...

that scott looks like the pretty sister of that ugly cervelo you put in that spot last year.
more seriously, why would you have a bike weighing machine? that is utter road nazism and deserving of professional analysis.

bauhaus is something that people like to drop to make themselves sound smart--like "postmodernism" and "ontological'

Stiff bike, stiffer than the S2, WAY stiffer than the Six13. My low back hurt a bit after 25 miles of hammering, but then my back hurts much of the time when I first ride a new bike. Then it seems to adapt and it's fine. That's odd, because it seems to be set up just like my other bike.
Rear triangle isn't nearly as vertically compliant as the Six13, but this bike is lighter and it does climb better. The Six13 was starting to feel a bit mushy to me at times. This bike feels too stiff. I'll get used to it. It really takes me a month to figure out if I like a bike.
