Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So you think you're like Cavendish now?

I'll never be like Cavendish unless I triple my sprint wattage.

We know that...I was referring to the dental issues you seem to have in common...his complaints appear genuine though.

Now as for my new ride I didn't get to build exactly the way I wanted to (SRAM Force/Red mix and some Soul 4.0 or Williams Sys30 wheels) but I did get new Rival which was a good compromise with my live-in budget auditor. I didn't get a chance to weigh it but it sure is lighter than the bike it replaced and my BMC (aluminum frame with Fulcrum 7 wheels so no weight saving attempts made...yet) so my guess it's probably around 16lbs. I took it on a nice ride yesterday and man it was a lot of fun to ride so I'm looking forward to taking on some more extended runs, I'll probably head out to Nyack tomorrow morning and find some hills to climb.

Yeah, those flame wars were fun....
SEXY! How does it ride compared to the BMC or is it too early to tell?

I'm going to Nyack solo tomorrow later in the day because I think I caught a cold today on the MTIR ride out to Long Island; not going to try and wake up @ 5:00AM like usual.

Ahh, we posted at the same time. Good luck with your recovery. Dental issues can be debilitating.

The best cure for dental issues is more bike stuff, just saying...

Loving that Addict, but something in the cockpit is making clicking noises when I'm yanking on the bars. Starting to think it's the brifters (I'll re-torque those next) and if not, possibly the headset. But I am digging that bike. 4 hours on it today, I was good until about 3.5 hours, but I'm not sure that was the bicycle, I haven't done hardly any rides over 3 hours yet this year. Man that bike climbs/descends great.

That is a nice looking ride jorge. Riding impressions? Curious to hear what the bike weighs too.

Hey Pcad, ever ridden a Giant? You should. Get a TCR and replace the Cervelo and the Addict with it, you won't regret it.

Everybody that has the Giants like them. I couldn't buy one. They're just the Fugliest bikes on the planet, and I'm a superficial poser to whom such things are critical. So it goes.

Very happy indeed with my current gear line up. I'm set until the next Pointless Schwag Urge hits me. Which could be any time, so stay tuned.

That wireless Ptap on the Zipp 404 clinchers was a key move, makes moving that Ptap between bikes a breeze. I must say, the Power Tap has a few quirks, but generally I really like the unit, the software, the support.

Fair enough, but do you really think this is ugly?

It would look better if it didn't have huge "GIANT" decals, but then it would look boring.

Nice wheels though..

To be fair, I heard from several sources that the TCR Advanced SL rides way better than a Pinarello Prince/Dogma carbon, especially up hills; I just don't think it's a looker. Then again, I ride a Bianchi, which has the putrid celeste-green accents, so what the heck do I know about beauty?

I'm a fan of billboard bikes, maybe that's it.

Not a fan of Giant. Don't ask me why, there's no logic to it.
