I think the guy who bought it was on another forum. He was asking about it.

Yeah, this was over a week ago, and I still can't get it out of my head. Stupid, stupid, stupid...

New one comes in @ 17.6lbs with pedals and cages.

Thinking I should have gotten these cages instead now...since the bike's red is way darker than the cages' red.

$300 isn't cheap. Especially for a brand with no pedigree. I saw an Easton EC90 sl today on eBay for ~$170 shipped.

LOL, too true. I make the money, but thank god I married someone better at managing it than I am!

Completely agree, just cool to look at some new parts. I am all about getting best bang for buck though.

Just put 2 and 2 together. I was at the store buying some cable housing and walked past your bike on my way to the store bathroom :p.

Look for a new bike and the LBS is all out of CAADs/synapse....might be waiting on 2013 bikes

Great looking bike! This is a really nice paint scheme...

Maybe you can get somebody to trade you on the bottle cages, otherwise it still looks fine IMO...

I'm probably just going to keep them, the color isn't far off and I don't think they look bad really.

And now for something a little different. Cannondale is just showing this to dealers, a CAAD 10 frame set up for cyclocross.

Drool all you want!

Here's the write-up:

The flagship $2200 CAADX model comes with a Shimano Ultegra drivetrain, including an Ultegra front derailleur instead of the cyclocross-specific CX70. To keep the price down, a 105 chain and rear cassette are utilized, while an FSA’s Gossamer Pro BB30 cyclocross crankset transmits the power. Other components include Cannondale’s own MB700T mechanical disc brakes, Schwalbe Sammy Slick clincher tires, a Cannondale C3 cockpit, and Maddux CX 2.0 Disc wheels. The whole package will retail for under $2k and should be available in August.

I am loving my 2011 CAAD10 more than you can possibly imagine (ok, so you probably know exactly how I feel :D), but one little thing has been bothering me: The rear brake cable rattles against the frame - not constantly, but often enough (when the road's not quite smooth) that it's annoying and will probably eventually start to wear against the frame. I've done some searching of the forum but haven't had much luck. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what's the fix?

Also, what do you think about bike carriers? Is there a way to protect the frame from that brake cable if using a rear rack from which the bike hangs (thus pushing the cable into the frame) or is it best to just find a roof rack?

You are saying the exposed brake cable along the top tube is rubbing? Do you not have rubber o rings to space out along the cable? Or is the cable housing hitting the headtube up front? If that's the case then just put some of that soft touch tape that is used for electronic cables. A couple wraps at the location it touches will quiet it down.

For the rack situation there are posts you can buy that go between the seatpost and steerer. You then hang the bike from that. Not sure if that option works with your rack. I have a rocky mounts euro pitchfork roof rack so I don't have to worry about that.

My cable doesn't "rattle", but my LBS put small square pieces of 3M protective tape under the areas where the cables would rub the frame.
