Then you probably have the wrong bike. Not that the caad isn't a comfortable bike, it is. But it's not an urban cruiser. Running 25mm tires at 90psi or so is pretty darn comfortable for me. 28 might fit but I kind of doubt 32 would. Not much clearance on mine with 25s.

I was just wondering if there was anything similar to the Trek Lane or CrossRip. I guess they are technically cyclocross bikes but geared more for commuting. The Cannondale cross seems more race oriented. The Quick models are nice, but I'd like drop bars. I am 260 pounds and 23 tires always make me skittish. I'd like a bit more tire on my rides through the streets of Phila. I may consider the synapse.

How about a CAADX?

Put Sram Force shifters and RD on, Thomson Elite seatpost, and trolling around on a new set of rollers.
CAAD is awesome.

Synapse is a nice bike but it's not going to take very wide tires either. The caadx might be worth considering if you are leaning cannondale. Nothing too race oriented about the caadx but the carbon ones are certainly aimed more at racers. The alloy model comes with drops for racks or fenders. I have one on order. Pretty sweet bike if you want something kind of all around but still road bike oriented. Comes with wider tires too. If you don't go for the disc model you might want to budget for some new brakes. The stock ones seem a bit weak for road riding.

The Sun is back in Provence and the birds are singing and the racing season has already started here, so its time to get some km in on my CAAD 10. Totally blue skies at the moment but a 100km/h Mistral blowing

If you've got any doubts about the CAAD 10 I can say its a very reassuring bike to ride, its glued to the road and there's no over or understeer and it responds directly to the slightest increase in effort, does'nt waver when you are out of the saddle or sprinting but you just have to get used to windmilling rather than cranking a high gear because there's no flexing out of the frame under load, so higher gears are wasted. It's a bike you can ride all day without feeling exhausted. Can't wait to take it up the Ventoux and the Signale de Lurs as soon as the snow melts up the top.

Repairtech,
Welcome to BF, the Road Cycling sub-forum and the Cult of CAAD. Nice looking CAAD you have there.

Woah! That's a flip of the frame color I have, and I love it. What model and year was this? CAAD10 4 from... 2011?

@repairtech: welcome to the forum and nice colors on your bike as well ;)

freedomrider1 01-28-13 01:16 PM

it's not Caad 10 5, but caad 10 4 2012 version

BoomMcNasty 01-28-13 02:12 PM

The '12 10 5 came with the bbq scheme. Maybe you could photo shop some Sram in there to make your post correct.

Nope. It is indeed a CAAD10 5. You're right about the year though, same as mine 2012.

@ BoomMcNasty

Upilu 01-28-13 02:19 PM

I'll try :D

Upilu 01-28-13 02:20 PM

however that's is not the 2013 colour scheme, but 2012. I'm sorry :)

99Klein 01-28-13 02:45 PM

Looks like my 2012 CAAD 10 5. Wish they had the anodized nipples like the team color. Who am I kidding, I wish mine WAS the team color.

Nice Bike!

Its a 10 5 from 2010 according to the Craigslist ad. I got it for a steal. It was completely stock, and I really don't like shimano, so I pulled the force off my other bike. Its a super nice ride.

lennyk 01-28-13 03:09 PM

yes, 2012

BoomMcNasty 01-28-13 05:04 PM

Nice bike lennyk, congrats!

Tightened up and got sizing close, reach is slightly longer than my current bike but I think I can live with it.
Gonna pickup some bottle cages this morning and go for a test ride this afternoon.

i'm not one for team bikes unless you're on the team. still looks good though!

mrjim 01-30-13 07:36 AM

I'm interested in getting some FSA SL-K cranks to replace the stock Gossamers on my CAAD10-5. Would there be any issues connecting them to my stock BB and chain rings?

edit:
P.S. What's up with the 50 post minimum to send PMs?

The chainrings are standard sizes and you can swap them around. 130bcd for "standard" and 110bcd for "compact". As long as you get a BB30 crankset then the BB is the same.
