it's all about how comfortable you are. if you're comfortable enough on it for a 100+ mile ride period, then the terrain and geometry are irrelevant.

Does anyone know what is the length of the stock CAAD 10 stems? I couldn't find this on Cannondale's website.

100's on the smaller bikes & 110's on the larger ones that I remember. I can't recall that I've seen 90's or 120's on the "road" bikes as stock, but they definitely make 'em. I've played with several sizes all in Cannondale C1, C2 and C3 flavors. (good, cheap stems, actually)

I have been riding my CAAD 10 for a few days. How ever after being used with compact crank I have noticed a different with mid compact. There are some nice hills around my area, how ever I find that 36-28 sometimes doesn't cut it as I can't seem to get my cadence up more. Is there a way to get a 32 on the rear cassette so I will have 36-32 ? I hardly ever use the 11 teeth cog. Sorry if it's a noob question.

Yes, there are cassettes that you could put on that go up to 32, however.........28 is usually the highest gear you can use with a short cage derailer. If you go higher than that, like 32, you usually have to go to a long-cage rear derailer. Even so, some will say that they can still shift into a higher gear than 28 with the short cage, but usually it's not supposed to work.

One more thought is that you could get some compact chain rings if your current BCD is 110 and the compacts are 110.

BUT......you might even hang on & see if you can strengthen your climbing legs to get the 36/28 combination to work better for you.

Thank's for the reply. I'm really new to bicycle mechanics and don't really want to ruin anything. But I'm really interested in learning, because in the future I can maintain it with out a mechanics help.

Btw if I purchase a compact chain ring, wouldn't that require to adjust a short chain because there are 2 teeth missing short ?

I completed my upgrade to 5800 groupset and sub 1300 g clinchers

It shouldn't be a big deal. I switched my 53/39 crank to 50/34 without changing chain length and haven't had any issues in over a year. Technically you should resize the chain but in the real work 2 teeth wont make a huge difference. But people also regularly witch cassettes from say 12-25 to a 11-28 and back depending on terrains they are riding without resizing chains

How was the "Cannondale" lettering applied to the frame? Paint? Stickers? I removed all of the Gold lettering from my Black Inc and while I like the look of an all black bike, I am leaning towards putting some "Cannondale" badges back on in white, pewter, or possibly a gloss black to contrast the matte finish of the frame. If a stencil or vinyl was used. where did you get it?

Also, sub 16 is doable, my 60cm with stock wheels, tires, dork disc, and platform pedals weighed 17.5 at the shop the day I bought it. I'm a big guy so there's only so much I can do to safely be a weight weenie but I'm in the process of swapping the entire cockpit to Fizik 00 Carbon and about to pull the trigger on some 2015 Reynolds Assaults which combined should get me around 16.5lbs. Not bad for an xl aluminum framed bike.

I'm new here, so let's post a picture of my Caadx. It was a standard tiagra 2015 version, which I upgraded with Dura Ace 10speed, except the crank.
I changed the toptube colour scheme into black.
Most of the time I'm using it on tarmac, therefor I've ordere a nice 60mm carbon clincher wheelset which I receive in a few weeks.
Normaly I ride my roadbikes in a 58cm framesize, but this cyclocrossbike feels so right in 56cm, that I haven't used my roadbike for half a year now.

There is a CAAD10 in the back of my Subaru waiting to be test ridden tomorrow if the weather is good. It is so pretty

I have taken 2 test rides and am in love! I was on a Synapse 51cm but am now on a CAAD10 48cm and I am loving the size and the power in this bike!

Sold the CAAD , was just too aggressive for me, nice machine though... Think the Synapse is in my future...plus it was a 56cm and was really too small, the LBS that sold it to me I feel like was just trying to get rid of it in some ways...

What make a bike "aggressive" ?

I think 90% of comments on ride are in the head and not real.
