Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

When your friends are out of sight do you talk about them badly?

Just doesn't seem honest man.

Sorry, I have a hard time putting forth the energy to make that sound humorous. But that wast the intent.

But you can "get fit with your phone for less". Who wouldn't want that?

Speaking of MapMyRide, I forgot to post the details from Tuesday's death march on wheels. Man, the total climbing looks so pathetic compared to elevation profiles that the esteemed gentleman from WV regularly posts

Oh well, the ride's still soooo EPIC that the 3D flyover takes over 10 minutes to view!!!! Hehehe.

You ride on the Interstate? wut

Here's my Boulevard de Fred TT. I've got to figure out how to shave 20 seconds off this baby.

I had the displeasure of listening to Lady Gaga today at PT (there was a spin class going on as my PT was finishing up...)

The Interstates are the only ways across the river without adding 100+ miles to your route. The I-5 Interstate Bridge has sidewalks. The I-205 Glenn Jackson bridge has a bike lane. No biggie. (well except when you encounter Interstate Bridge salmon like I mentioned in my ride report. Die, salmon, die!)

I've done Centuries and Metric Centuries that are at least 95% freeway miles. Sometimes it's the only reasonable way to go.

Hmm, that's tempting. I'm not completely repulsed by Lady Gaga and could always use more tunes on the playlist.

Musicians would sell a lot more songs if they all started selling albums for 0.99.

Bike companies could learn a lesson from this.

Allen & Coggan's Training with Power survived two 10 hour and two 7 hour flights without getting cracked. That's the kind of dedication I have.

Kinda, he is actually a standard poodle, but he is big, hairy, and fast as hell.

I rode the Kestrel the past couple of rides for a couple of reasons, first to try out the PowerTap and second to see if I wanted to keep the Kestrel. The first ride the PowerTap only worked part of the time for some reason. The second ride the PowerTap worked perfect. The Kestrel felt very comfortable but not as fast as the Colnago. It wasn't until after the forth flat last night that I decided that god was sending me a sign. I received the sign loud and clear, I must buy a new frameset.

Let's see an OCLV puppy photo. This place is always good for some solid dog pics.
