Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Unfortunately I cannot argue that comment.

Thanks, appreciate it. I hope you are right. The guys on each side of me are cat 3's so that did feel kind of good. The guy that got 3rd was the WV cat 1/2/3 tt champion last year. I beat him by right at a minute in this race. He is a really good friend of me so I will certainly rub it in a bit later.

I was third overall for the day (50 or so raced I believe). A cat 2, 40 - 49 year old beat me by about 10 - 12 seconds and a cat 1 50 - 59 year old cat 1 (been a 1 for years) crushed the course and beat me by over two minutes.

To all the dads out there, Happy Fathers Day!

And to all you who aren't dads yet, you'll get yours . . . I mean, your day is coming.

You idiots were far less concerned about my fragile ego today.

Happily for you, life has beaten it out of me already.

Onward to 50K.

That's like some kind of BF Diamond Jubilee in the making right there. I want fireworks, acrobats and fancy boats on the river Thames.

Since I'm sure you have never been in a race I am not surprised at your response. If you ever do race you will understand. Until then it is impossible to explain why a $2 medal is worth all of the pain.

How come LC isn't over in the 33 hobnobbing with those Road Nazi idiots? I would think that after that result he would be too good for us.

Maybe he is sticking around because he and I are Lexus CT mpg Brothers.

What I want to know is where the hell in WV is there a friggin Lexus dealer? That's like a Piggly Wiggly on the Upper East Side.
