This will never happen to me on a road bike again. (I also have a pair of Vittoria Rubino wire beads not shown.)

When I was in grade school we read Anne Frank's Diary while the theater in Milwaukee was featuring a play of the book. I asked my dad to see it with me, and later found out from my mom that that was a really hard thing for him to do.

I think he has a hard time reconciling what he went through, and also carrying guilt for the atrocities that happened during the war.

I have no words, and cannot even imagine.

Hundreds of dollars for a watch.

Happy Ending?

Be careful out there!

Not all of them. If your rig has Avid Shorty brakes then they should work on those, however.

Guess I need to see which brakes I have as soon as the pup lets me up.

Let me get this straight. You're telling me you don't like a hospital scrub top with lycra shorts?

Only on special occasions.

I've managed to scratch the back of a couple of mine trying to change the battery. (using wrong tools will do that)
Anyway, a month ago I found a nice watch while out on a bike ride. I took it to the police and handed it in so if no-one claims it by February, I get to keep it. I'll have to get the braclet repaired as one of the pins had broke. Obviously the reason the guy dropped it. After I handed it over, I went to a watch few shops but to my surprise they don't carry the brand (Longines) One of our department stores had a Watch Gallery where I found it and was pleasently surprised at the price. I just can't work out why the owner hasn't contacted the police yet. Can't wait now for February.

Very nice. Just saw this one on another site.

WhyFi 12-15-12 07:55 AM

Sorry MM, but that graphic isn't correct, either. Ryan was identified early on as the shooter, but it was actually his brother Adam that was the culprit. As much as I'd love to pile on the Fair and Balanced reporting of Fox, there were quite a few outlets that were wrong in this regard.

Do you use the "well, I can't get up - I've got an animal on my lap," excuse, too? The cats have long been unwitting tools of procrastination in the WhyFi household.

Yep, I use that one pretty regularly. Lately I've been using the I can't get up, my ankle is freaking killing me excuse. It doesn't seem to work as well. :o

miyata man 12-15-12 08:28 AM

It somehow belonged here if anywhere, WhyFi. Turning the conversation towards the media, and thus the reported facts as they become available, seems to me a worthy subject. I found it unbelievable that every channel was informing the public of different 'facts' with varying degrees of authority placed behind them. Fox is the butt of many derisive thoughts because of sub-par journalism like I posted.

sophie is a lap cat, and we regularly use her as an excuse to make the other person get something.

when I sprained my ankle though, it didn't work for squat. still had to do everything myself. including grocery and christmas shopping. (IIRC I got mine a week or two before the holidays) crutches in snowstorms are the WORST.

Yeah, the trickle of misinformation was pretty bad yesterday. I think that it was partly a get-the-scoop-or-be-scooped mentality paired with a desire to make sense of something that defies sense.
