Jen, if you are out there I just want to let you know that I still approve of one way mirrors on the bedroom ceiling and a discretely placed EVF. But I'm still sick of hearing about you.

What does embryonic ventral forebrain have to do with it?

This one's only 5.6" long.

My wife was recently diagnosed with celiac. That, indeed, would be a drag. Sunday night after going over things up and down with a waiter at the the capital grille it turned out the tuna was indeed cooked with soy...but it was reduced sodium and gluten. Corporate apologized and sent a gift card. Sigh.

You expect adjacent words to make sense? This is Rando (oh wait, miyata man)we are talking bout.

Sorry to hear about the celliac gsteinb. I have an aunt, and cousin who have that. It is no fun. So hard to eat out with any food allergy, really. I feel deep sympathy for anyone who suffers from such a disease. I like food a lot.

The iMac has the best screen you’ve ever seen on a computer, the finest craftsmanship and ridiculously fast response.

The machines are back ordered, hoping to get one by the end of the month.

Like my day is so cram-packed full of stuff I must do that shaving less than a second off of a browser opening is going to improve my life. It would be easier if you just admitted your personality demands that you always have the coolest, newest, shiniest, most expensive new gadget on the market. It's not a bad thing, but Pcaddy, you sure do a lot with product placement in your posts. I hope you are paid a commission of some sort

Now, a Mac with Di2, THAT would really be worth a look...

EDIT: My three year old AMD/Vista box boots in 22 seconds. Windows 7 is brutal with startup, and Kubuntu boots in less time than Vista. The Mac/Apple benchmarks are pretty pointless.

Can't ride today...stupid job.

I did go for a quick run.

Running is stupid, but one benefit of running is you can generally use cycling gear except for shoes. I even wore my helmet liner today since it was about 29 degrees out, along with my bike vest, polypro base layer, and cycling tights (w/o chamois).

It was a decent run, but still sucky compared to cycling.

Unanimous West Coast votes. Wow.

My draw backs for Portland/Vancouver are: Adds a full travel day to each end, where Ga. is four hours out of start and end day. Kids will be in school while we are gone, and I worry about lengthening the trip.

Other concern is kayaking on the Columbia. That almost killed Louis and Clark. Granted kayaking in Savannah has more alligators.

What do you have against a Mac with EPS? :p

Technology always crosses a line with regard to its utility in my world. I stop at the line, so this line was intended as a little poke at Pcad. I find Apple's products more about marketing than function, and electronic shifting as dumbing down a bike for us Freds. Skywalker Ranch (well, Disney) may have lots of use for Apple products, and pro bike racers may prefer Di2. I was raised on Macs back in the late 80's and early 90's and worked for a software company that produced learning programs for kids. I liked Macs, but that wore off as I could not build my own Mac. I can build my own PC.

I recently built a real nice 10 speed, but found that I crossed that line at 9 speeds. 10 speeds offers me nothing that improves my cycling experience, let alone trying to eliminate cables and adding weight with a battery.

I don't think Pcad has a line :-)

good to be diagnosed. I had no idea for about 2 years after I switched to soy milk. Just trial and error led me to suspect soy, especially after I came to Taiwan. In UK I hardly ate soy other than the new soy milk and here it is everywhere.

Curiously, because of soy allergy I discovered that I had peanut allergy too. Very mildly but still reacts to peanuts.

gsteinb 12-06-12 08:30 AM

Yeah, it took years to figure it out, and as a result she has permanent nerve damage brought on by vitamin deficiencies. Kinda messed up. I checked the warranty info, but her apple care didn't cover it.

coasting 12-06-12 08:32 AM

I'm a sucker for punishment. I'm trying to eat more vegetarian, in Asia, with a soy allergy. Talk about mission impossible.

I can't get a break, after my foot finding a rock while working yesterday I get to take another ten days off the bike. This crap is getting old!!! :o

First pic was taken about 10 minutes after finding the rock. Second picture was taken approximately 3 hours after finding the rock. Third picture was taken a couple of minutes ago.

But I'm a flexible vegetarian. My vegetarianism stretches to the odd steak now and again.

I agree. One thing though. 10 speed does prove advantageous for me. Reason being SRAM is only available in 10 speed, and SRAM Red is lighter than everything else. Otherwise though you are correct. Batteries are dumb and heavy, Apple products for the most part are nothing but marketing hype. I use old pc's as well, and they work just fine. I am typing this on an iPhone however. It is a nice phone despite my lack of love for apple products. I like your di2 is dumbing down a bike for Freds comment. So true. Seriously if you can't setup and maintain a cable actuated transmission you are a disgrace to the human race. It's not that complicated, it really isn't.

RollCNY 12-06-12 08:54 AM

LC, what do you mean by "finding a rock"? Was this a rock in your shoe, or a collision of foot to stone? Or a slip on a rock and a twisted ankle? All of that bruising looks horrendous for the discovery of stone.

coasting 12-06-12 08:54 AM

I am an electric shifting sceptic too, but I hear more and more people saying how great it is. It will be the norm soon.
