Jaysus, you don't pop in and take a gander at this thread for 24hrs and already you have to wade through 4 pages of drivel. Nice work fellas!
Okay, so what did I learn this week? Well, Koffee says "Seriously, we're not down on the men down under" which would be a pity if I were not confused by her avatar. Secondly, St. Andrews was beautiful yesterday ( Stats : 94kms, avs 26.9 (doh!) ) so you all missed out on that one. Somehow I managed to avoid getting p¡ssed on, which was a miracle in itself. I'd like to thank the Hurstbridge general store for it's fridge full of cold water, without which I would've imploded. How the fark are you supposed to do 100ks on 2 waterbottles when it's 30 degrees 90% humidity????
What else? hrmmm.......well, in terms of this Dimebag Darrell debarcle, all I can really say is.........
I'M ON THE DRUG! I'M ON THE DRUG! I'M ON THE DRUG THAT KILLED RIVER PHOENIX!

In that case, two visits from the mods in one day -- someone's keeping an eye on us.
This fourm has about 40 times the amount of 'mods' of other forums!!!!

Once you're there, the traffic is fine. The problem is actually getting there. I took Plenty Rd. yesterday coz I just wanted to get out into the hills as quickly as possible. Probably not the best choice funny enough, but what options are there? They all basically suck one way or another. Just the bane of livin' in the big city I guess.

They're playing Pantera on JJJ. You know, they were pretty brutal back in the day.

no wonder you don't wanna go home
Melbourne's cold enough in the middle of winter, with the temps usually around 11 to 13 degrees

Nope. I'm from that little place below it that you guys love so much. Seppo land? You know, where Lance Armstrong, 6 time TDF winner is from. Hee hee. Australians do kick a$$ in MTB racing though.

Yeah and in the Tour de F green jersey competition. Lancie's not the only winner in his past six TdFs, even though anyone would think so

Hey, I'm just trying to stir you guys up. The last time I followed the whole tour, Miguel Indurain won. I think he may have stolen it from Lemond, who has since gone on to put his name on cycling products of questionable quality. I have a Lemond bike messenger's bike.

I heard Costa play that too.
As a guitarist Dimebag was up there with Tom Morello for me as one of the best. Being shot to death by some whackadoo fan is a sad way for him to go.

Hey whats the life expectancy on a pair of gloves?
I have a pair of Tuff Griptonites and the furry chamois like part around the thumb has started to split and wear away. They're only about 8months old if that.

Were they cheap? I have a pair of Answer MTB gloves that have survived years of abuse. Maybe it's the ugly factor. They're blue and orange, but super comfy. Ugly stuff never seems to need replacing.

Nothin wrong with orange and blue. Euskatel Euskadi can't be wrong. Or me.
Gloves truely do suck nads though. I probably get a new pair or two every year. So far my very cheap Salsa fingerless seem to be holding up pretty well, which is astounding coz I think they set me back a whole 10 bucks.

Hey Thylo, a non-cycling friend of mine asked why he's seeing all these "fixies" in the city.
I laughed, and said that it was just trendy
The guy at Bicycle Recycle says they get a bazillion requests for them, so I suppose you've considered
cornering that market?

If it was about the Great Victorian Bike Ride along the Great Ocean Road... well they might be putting a gloss over an unmitigated disaster, from what I have read.
At least 25% of people pulling out, huge queues, lots of complaints. of course, the giveaway bikes were crap (I bet Tiger didn't even get an offer to build any).
8000 starters and ability to organise only 3000. I'd hate to be BV boss Harry Barber having to sign all those refund cheques.
Oh well <shrug> There's always the Great Tasmanian Bike Ride BV runs coming up in Feb. More fun and game, s'pose.

Thanks.
Yeah, I heard about the bollock-fest which was the Great Vic Bike Ride.
I just remembered that Cycling Central was repeated last week at about 3am, one morning.
