Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That is a bender of Martin Pike proportions!!! Great effort. I was at the game at TD when the Doggies beat us in Rnd 19 for our only loss of the year. I was a guest of Gillette so was drinking their free frothies all night....got into a massive, pissed slanging match about the 1999 prelim final with some Carlton ****** who was there. Classic stuff.

Hee hee hee, two of my favourite games of all time: the 1999 "pulmonary", and that game against the Dogs -- close, exciting, and the "Bombres" got beat. Although, in 1999 it meant the Granny was ***** because Carlton was never gunna beat Wayne.

I are an Tiger. Still haven't got over the 1972 GF

glad you added that "in 1999" in there...Mercs has been AWOL for more than a couple of years.

Can't believe Warney's shaved his legs (p72 of The Sun). He's got legs like a fat chick. You gotta have some condition and some colour before you shave; that's the LAW!!

Thank you, I'll take the 1000th post Do I get a prize or what?

Yeah, I'm not sure about the 'feeling flat at the 60km mark'. I think only doing 200-300kms a week on the roadie and having no real 'plan' probably doesn't help. I'm probably not eating as much as I should either coz I'd still like to get a bit lighter than I currently am - I can feel all of those 93kgs when I hit a hill after 50kms in the saddle, believe me.

FYI fellas, 'GF' is netspeak for 'Girlfriend', not frikken 'Grand Final'. You were confusing the ***** outta me for a second there.

I've had enough of this taswegian stuff. Just where the hell is taswegia, anyway? You loonies. I've had enough, I tell you, with all your cr@p about football, now it's bloody cricket. And you're all cycling legends in your own lunch boxes. You're just a bunch of fat girlie slobs who wouldn't know one end of a Ksyrium from another.

I'm so fed up, I'm going. There, I feel better now...

Actually, I'm going on a month's leave from tomorrow. Unfortunately, the first leg of my travels takes me to Victoria , and the Mallee country for a big ride. Then I escape for a fortnight to WA before coming back for the Great Southern. Might even catch up with one or two of you on the way through late in October around St Kilda.

Anyway, keep b!tchin', stay out the mods' way, and keep the seppos guessing (or stirred up, whichever gives the most pleasure).

Cheers

Bikes: how long have you got?

G'day,

I see in the 'sun' that the 'Sun tour' has attracted 'Cookie', henk vogels, Simon gerrans etc to start this year....should be an interesting tour...the downside is that they will probably start 'warnie' next weekend as well!.......which means Hitchy will be under the pump from the gun!.....(Bar tape for brekkie isn't a good look!)
