Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah, I made that lady cry.

There is a problem with her cat's nerves, the actual nerves as in "the structures that connect the spinal cord to the muscles," not some vague usages of the word "nerve" that means "prolly the nervous system". To the extent that the cat cannot walk at all.

This problem is prolly a secondary consequence of the cat's poorly controlled diabetes. Thankfully, not my department.

The diabetes is in turn prolly poorly controlled because of the giant lung tumor that is present. Also thankfully not my department.

All of this is further not helped at all by the fact that the previously-stable chronic renal failure appears to now be complicated by acute renal failure. Which sounds bad, but that part is prolly manageable. Again, not my department.

All-in-all, a long shot that all of this will work out for a 15 year old cat. But owner wants to keep going. Who knows? I have been wrong before. Maybe things will go better than expected. But I'm out of this process for a few weeks and Internal Medicine is in.

I saw another post in the old thread regarding the "hassle," of tubeless...Maybe in the beginning, not now.

One caveat, a compressor is a must for initial tire installation. Some people do get lucky with a hand pump, but it's a variable not worth the aggravation IMO.

It takes me maybe 15 minutes to mount a new tire, pop the beads into place via compressor, then deflate and add sealant. Using an injector, and removable core stems, there is no muss or fuss.

Do you have tubeless ready rims?
I've heard that CO2 will substitute for the compressor pretty well.

This is from the link about the dead birds....

"A viewer sent News 2 an image showing the birds on Northfield Lane in front of the General Motors plant that runs parallel with Highway 31."

When I read this, I read it as the General Motors plan runs parallel to Highway 31. Am I doing it wrong? Or is this really a case of poor journalism and editing?

It left the car smelling smokey.

Yesterday, I disassembled the wheels (to save the hubs) and discovered that the tires are in good shape, but reek. So much so that even the tubes smell smokey. Where part of me wants to recycle the rubber to the new build, methinks I will have to toss it instead.
If you know someone with an ozone generator like what is used to freshen houses, cars, hotel rooms, they really do work. Just put the bike in a small, closed room with the generator for 24 hours, and it will be completely fixed. My daughter and son-in-law bought a smoke fouled house and even though they gutted it, it still reeked. After a weekend with the ozone generator, presto-changeo, no problem at all even to the most perceptive noses.

A couple of commas are definitely called for there. After "Lane" and "plant."

Journalism sucks these days. Now that they've been writing all their web content in the clickbait style for a while now, I've noticed that the evening news teasers on our local Fox affiliate are verbalized clickbait!

I swear to god it's like: "Up next on Fox 12, these people did this thing and you won't believe what happened next!"

iMacs are still pretty good bang for the buck, cuz they have AMAZING displays that would cost about 75% of the price of the iMac if you were to purchase as a standalone monitor.

With a MacPro, you're just spending a lot for a fancy, weird case.

But having multiple words to utilize ( ) to express the same concept is one of the most positive characteristics of the English language. In Germanic languages they have their version of "tell" as a root word for totaling up quantities and relating information. In Romance languages their form of "count" serves a similar purpose. We, however, have both. Our prose is much less boring because of that...and so many other similar examples. Whether the root is the same or not, having multiple ways to express the same concept but with slight modifications in meaning makes English much more expressive than other languages.

Thanks for confirming. Had it been me, I would have written is as....

A viewer sent News 2 an image showing the birds in front of the General Motors plant, on Northfield Lane, that runs parallel with Highway 31.

That seem clear to me. There are other options as well.

I like the Dutch one, rekenen.

If you want your check in a restaurant in Flanders, you ask for the rekening (I think that's how they spell it).

Only if you think out of the box and come up with a new paradigm. That would be a real game changer.

What are they going for? Apple does typically use nice displays, but have you seen the price drops on IPS monitors, lately? You can regularly find 23/24" in the $200 price range. In the $400 range, you can find monitors capable of being calibrated well enough to be suitable for all but those in the top .01% of anality.

Very true, but what's the choice, just ditch the tires and tube a priori. Might as well try something. There are contractors that specialize in deoderization and have the machines to service houses like my daughter's. But many hotels and auto body shops keep them too. They do wonders on puke.

Nope, havent priced fancy monitors lately, guess I shoulda said "As of five years ago..."

But yeah, iMac 30" displays really are overkill for non-pro or non-hardcore enthusiast Photochoppers, etc.
