Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No problems at all. Last time I flatted that was the only tube I had with me. I only carry long stem tubes these days since I don't want to get a flat sometime when I am running 50mm rims and only have a short valve stemmed tube that I can't use. Plus this way if I am riding with someone with deep rims I will have a tube they can use if necessary.

Well, it wound up being closer to ~17 weeks due to a bunch of unforseen circumstances (like, the head of Spectrum Powderworks got married & went off on his honeymoon just as my frame was sent in to be painted!), but the bike just arrived last night...so in a way it feels like it's my most recent cycling purchase.

eSoles for my Specialized shoes. Simply awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rear Campagnolo Super Record Derailleur to replaced the bent one on my bike. Got bent on a crash about a year ago and it has been a beotch to get gearing correctly adjusted.

It was a Vintage sort of day yesterday. Set of 1981 Campagnolo Super Record Brake calipers and a set of Suntour Powershift Bar end shifters (the best pre indexed bar ends ever made bare none).

They will land on my Vintage project a Raleigh thats not a Raleigh (but I dont know what it is). The bike has Campy drops, Campy High flange Record hubs and a Drillium Record seat post. Now if the guy with the Record Derailleurs will get back to me the bike will have a fairly complete Record Groupo. Then time to paint it. Cream with a British racing green head tube and possibly a BRG panel on the seat tube.

Used Trek Madone off eBay, new Look Keo Max2 carbon pedals, Garmin Edge 500 bundle, Cygolite Pace 310 headlight, LS jerseys, tights, jacket. Now I have to figure how to pay for it all.

Got myself Tacx rollers and just got myself a Garmin Edge 500 Bundle to replace my Cateye V2C. All i can say is wow, for a small device this size you can really do alot with it. Also looking into getting myself an upgrade on components. Looking at 2011 Campy Record.

Finally got my Soul s3.0SLs put on and picked up a Specialized Toupe Pro saddle w/ carbon rails today. Took both out for a test ride and I could not be happier with both purchases!

Since I haven't had any luck finding 31.0 seatposts for my f313 pinarello, I purchased a Thomson elite off ebay for $34 shipped in 30.9. If it slips, I'll make a shim out of something.

You went wrong with the "made with natural ingredients" everyone knows the only stuff that works is the stuff that will cause cancer in bunny rabbits.

Bought a used Garmin Edge 205 on CL this weekend for a hundred bucks. I almost bought the new 800 and so far I'm not regretting the 205 as it was cheap and does everything I want it to do.

Be careful not to damage your frame overtightening.

You could probably put a wrap or two of duct tape around it to make it thicker. that would probably also provide more grip inside the seat tube and prevent slippage.

If he puts duct tape on a Pinarello he needs to be slapped.

I'm saying put it so it's inside the seat tube where no one can see it, I'm not suggesting he wrap his entire bike in the stuff.

No good. It will always slip, and when it slips, it will leave the most insidious goo all over everything. He'll never get it off. Every post ever inserted into the seat tube from that point forward will also get goo on it. The goo will still be there long after the frame material reaches it's half life.

Fortunately no one else likes these comfy, comfy shorts, so Excelsports was closing them out. Got the last pair in my size for $139, almost half of retail.
