are you talking about the maes bend ? which isn't much like a pista bend but rather the classic road drops style or maybe marsh bars ? middleton ?

smalle Vivalo keirin frame

lots of stuff. |
which is pushing it for a Vivalo, and obviously no one took the bate. Plus, $40 for shipping is kind of gouging. I don't think I've ever shipped a bare frame across the US for more than $20, but maybe some of the builders here (who ship tons) have had a different experience. |

Paint , ends are good to very good. No rust . With Headset and BB and Axle. S/F, CEYA! |
Well apparently no one else did, because now it's $500.
I was pretty close to pulling the trigger, because 49cm is basically my size, but when I saw the price plus the shipping cost, it seemed closer to $700 than I wanted to get. Anyway, I'm going to stop talking about it now, because I don't want to jinx this auction! |
As someone who's shipped a few frames across the country, I'm going to say that $40 is quite fair. If you don't have easy access to bike boxes, then a box from UPS is about $15. Another $5 for packing peanuts. Another $3-5 for insulating tubes. A dollar or two for wood between the dropouts. $1 for packing tape (from an existing roll). Overkill? I don't think so considering reports of dented and damaged frames that were mishandled and packed inappropriately.
I then use FEDEX only for shipping (you get a tracking number, you can insure it for the full cost of the frame and you can get a claim if things go awry) which typically costs $20-30 depending on where it's going. Add that all up. More than $40. But then again, I pack frames I sell the way I'd like a frame to come to me -- not dented and in the condition it left in. Getting a bike packed for shipping at a bike shop is $30. It's not gouging. |

Final offer? Sorry dude. It's a nice frame but you're not going to get $600 for it unless you know someone with an NJS stamp. |
Wasnt that bike *just* on ebay for cheap cheap? Like BIN 300 or something?

Ground Up Track Bike
http://denver.craigslist.org/bik/258139760.html wow...this one too. i've seen this on his website. http://denver.craigslist.org/bik/258125010.html |
Im talking to the treasure trove guy about a "Shimano 600 (ultegra) "arabesque" groupo. Early 1980's great condition. 170 mm cranks, front and rear derailleur, friction shifters, side pull road brakes."
He told me to make him an offer, but Im not sure what's reasonable. Any suggestions? --Aaron |
