We should hold a BFSSFG brawl some time.

Whenever I put any back pressure on the left crank arm, it clicks backwards.
Bike shop re-installed the bb, but still have the same problem. Anyone got a clue?

What was the bikeshops' recommendation? That leopard skinned saddle is dashing.

That's a mechanical problem that surfaces when the limit of 'all black fixed gear bikes' is reached. Add some colour to it and it should disappear.

Haha.
I dont wanna spend anymore money on a bike seat, seeing that the one I use, works fine.

Before, the cup was loose. Brought it to the shop, and they re-installed the bb.

Built it up earlier today, took it out to ride to see if the problem was gone... And it wasnt. Slightly better, but it still clicks backwards wenever I put back pressure.
Someone on another board told me it might be that the crank arm might be mishapened.
Gonna get it checked later next week, most likely.

Igneous Faction 01-08-08 10:20 PM

What do you mean by "clicks backwards"? Do you mean it makes a clicking sound, or that the actual crank moves backwards, making it no longer in line with the other crank arm.

Straws 01-08-08 10:20 PM

tighten up your chainring bolts. When I hear clicking it's the first thing I do.

TimArchy 01-08-08 11:30 PM

I second the CR bolts. If not that then the arm may be stripped. both of thouse should have been caught by the shop though

BMonei 01-08-08 11:48 PM

His left crank has no chain ring attached.

I don't see how it could shift back unless the BB spindle or Crank whole is stripped. Check both. The BB spindle is one solid piece so it wouldn't move without the right shifting as well.

StabsAll 01-09-08 12:01 AM

Well as soon as you get your bb/crank "clicking" noise squared away maybe you can do something about your handlebar angle.

Son of ronex 01-09-08 12:16 AM

I'd start looking for another LBS dude ,these guys are gonna get you killed .

Here. You can have some of my color. I just got this bike and it came with way too much.
I leave most of it at home when I go ride anyway.

She ain't much, but she's mine. She tends to flip/flop on the whole single speed fixed gear thing.

How's the clearance situation with the fenders? Are you running 700x23s or something smaller?

Without making a big thing of it, please be more considerate about what you say. It's easy to get caught up in the atmosphere of these forums and be dismissive of almost anything (I've done this myself numerous times). That being said, I was at Charlie Princep's (shiznaz) funeral and comments like what you posted have a real and negative effect on people. It doesn't matter if Charlie's death never crossed your mind ... my point is just that certain things like the death of a human being need to be held with a bit of respect, even if they didn't affect you personally.

Thanks.
