Welcome to the Dual A-spoke club! I used some water and brass dishwasher pad to scrape off the logos.

I have it on good authority that a thorn can end up lodged in a tyre so that you can't feel the tip from the inside nor the butt end from the outside (not easily anyway), but it can still move as you ride the bike and puncture the tube. I guess that's pretty ****ing rare but cd still be worth lining up labels & valves. I guess this can only realistically happen with thicker tyres tho. I can easily imagine it happening w/ a knobby.
so lining up labels to valvestems can be helpful, if you pay attention you can still figure it out but lining them up makes things quicker. edit: it has also helped me figure out that there was a rough spot inside my rim that was giving me flats about every week. |

I have to admit that yeah I do have a problem with sticking to one look...I've only had the Pake for under a year and I've changed to look five times. Not much money spent though considering parts were traded back and forth and all the paint jobs were done by me. I definitely think the areospokes are here to stay...yeah.

after some help from iab, i finally tracked down a set of the illusive cinelli
'priest' bars. this set is marked with the flying c logo and, considering the logo positioning, is mounted upside down. this is the third and most likely final incarnation of the euro-mystery frame. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2370/...0671a7ee_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2183/...860356b9_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2379/...fa84842f_o.jpg |

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/1lemond3.jpg This is my most recent lowcost build - a used 2006 Lemond Filmore (stock w/carbon fork), $69 Alien cranks, a Craigslist Mavic Ellipse wheelset, and $19 Izumi chain, sale-priced ultra race tires. Its supposed to be my beater or rainbike, but I can tell you now I like it more than my IRO Groupbuy w/expensive parts. |
travsi, i like those bars. thats a near perfect build. nothing flashy, just a cool solid bike.
|
They look awesome, but I'd probably spend 99.9% of my time inside the bends anyways.
|
i like that fillmore. throw some colour at it!

they are much thicker than the other roadster/upright bars i had on before. ...oh, and they fit the cinelli stem. |

you my friend have great taste in bikes!
now tell me about your bars they look rad. how are they on you hands? ...concerning the bars, the story goes a little something like this: in 1979 colnago presented pope john paul II with a gold plated colnago mexico, but it was later returned and he requested a road bike with an upright style bar. he was later given a white colnago with this bar from cinelli; it is refered to as the 'priest' or 'pope' model. -reference edit: more ref 1 ref 2 ref 3 as i said, the bar diameter is nice and thick (compared to other 25.4mm clamp upright bars i've used). i have them wrapped in cloth tape, but i could imagine they would be even more comfortable with cork or leather. |
Sweet bike!!!! I'd like to see it with the bars flipped but, whatever... It's still so nice!!! |

Here's my '07 Langster single speed. Never mind the blue rear wheel. It was an emergency thing. I'm thinking a white set for my next ones. Specs: Velocity Deep V rims, laced to forumla hubs White Industries 16t freewheel Ultegra brake calipers Cane Creek Rx 5.0 levers Specialized Toupee' saddle MKS pedals/clips Sugino cranks (stock) SRAM PC-1 chain Continental Gatorskin front tire/Specialized Mondo rear tire |
i really like the blue. in fact that's what jumped out at me.

My Wife's Fixie Inc. single speed in winter setup. (CX fork and studded tyres)
