I know I'm in the minority and it's probably because I think hardtail mountain bikes are some of the most beautiful bikes made, but I like sloping toptubes on road bikes. Keep it yellow!

yeah, moron. twine, now THAT'S for bikes!

so, why a road bike front wheel and fork on a fixed bike? no hate, just try to convince me.

1. It's sealed and this is my beater bike
2. Road hubs are lighter by at least 50 grams.
That wheel won't stay on the bike, it's worth far far too much for a lockup bike.

The fork is not on backwards, it is shaped like that for a brake.

real talk.
The road double is on there because they are beat ass 170 crank arm Chorus cranks, and I had a spare Chorus square taper bottom bracket. The inside chainring gives a very very good chainline. I would rather use parts that I have than buy parts. I will be taking the big ring off.

The CK headset/EC90 fork are on there because that was the only headset I had. Sadly it's a 1" threadless headset with the problem solver adapter to make it work in a 1 1/8" head tube. The EC90 fork has a 1" steer tube, so I used that. Once I get a cheapie 1 1/8" the stock steel fork is going on and it will be barspin city.

The gold seat post was super cheap, I am going to take the anodizing off it or trade it.

So far I am impressed with the Scrambler. I think it's on par with the $150 IRO BFSSFG frames. The dropouts are horrendously ugly, and the bottom bracket is very low, but the geometry makes a fun and reasonably responsive bike. It will do well for polo and general beating to death. I'm glad to have a bike I won't care if I break, I'm always super cautious riding the Samson given the tubing.

i disagree. i think the iro groupbuy was at lease twice as nicer as the scrambler. my iro at the top of the page built into a 17 lb or something road rider, with 2 brakes.
i think the scrambler is great for beating on, but no way is the tubing anywhere on par with the iro

*tries very hard to resist criticizing the grips*

trueno92 12-30-08 12:28 PM

seems obvious. i do 90% of my riding up top = grips up top.

dayvan cowboy 12-30-08 12:44 PM

they why bother with track drops? if you're riding on the tops you're obviously not riding on the track

You change out the bars? Why not run flats or risers on the street if you use different bars on the track anyway?

You got the Roy, I'm talking about the first IRO Group buy. It did have dedacciai tubing but I always felt it had a numb ride. The Scrambler feels lively.

Are you racing enough to tell the difference between a pound or two?

It's got 2 wheelsets, the open pro to C-Record that is on the Colnago in that picture and Nuovo Record high flange to Super Champion Record du Monde tubulars.

Riser bars are for children.

11201ny 12-30-08 02:06 PM

Jabba Degrassi 12-30-08 02:15 PM

You're clearly a dick.
