habitus 01-16-05 10:11 PM

yeah, it looks kindo of green. is that the factory color?

SSSasky 01-16-05 10:20 PM

i was just wondering what true single speed guys thought about bikes like mine? Is it a poor excuse for a ss.
No way dude ... an SS is an SS - variety is good. It's always nice to see a heavy duty SS. It's a nice change from the thin tubed roadies and XC bikes that dominate this forum (both of which I own - not trying to hate :) )

Well it does only have one gear, right? That would seem to qualify as a "true" single speed, right? Do you like it?

Check all that apply:

[ ] Yes
[ ] No

It's not maybe my speed because i'm not a trials/freerider but if that's your thing, rock on.

How do you like the wheelset? I was considering the same set from IRO and was concerned that it wouldn't look right cause the hubs aren't black as well. Could we get a close up of the hubs?

Cool thanks. Although mine wouldn't look as stealth since it would machined braking surfaces for the SS option. I like the tugs, looks like they were meant to be there.

dolface 01-17-05 12:04 PM

those tugs are awesome. i have a set too and i love 'em!

hammye 01-17-05 12:09 PM

Give it more credit! I dig the stem/bar combo-something about a riser on a road frame...(maybe I just like it because it reminds me of my own bike)

What are the details?

bostontrevor 01-18-05 06:36 AM

I like flat or riser bars on a roadie too. I wouldn't actually want to ride it, but I think it looks badass.

schwinnbikelove 01-18-05 06:46 AM

You said it, BT-I like to look at them much better than I do riding them. I have risers on my beater. (purple ano, nonetheless!)

I really need to get pictures up again of my two.

[165]- Ok, so what's the deal with Stella? Is that the 53cm frame from Yojimbo's recently? Are you borrowing her wheelset, or do you have two Surly wheelsets? Looks great! (and I'm alot LESS jealous now that it's not green) ;)

DKfix 01-18-05 07:35 AM

Originally I had hacksaw bullhorns on there. But I got to tell you the riser bars just have a better feel, like I have alot more control. Maybe it's just more what I'm used to Anyway,It's an 84 Trek 460 frame(found in junkyard)-some old Matrix Titan rims- Suzue hubs- A Bonti' Saddle-Kore seatpost-Bonti' riser bar,Stem,I have no idea-original Shimano 600 cranks and Sunringle platforms,Eggbeaters when summer returns. Oh and most important-Dead Kennedys sticker!
;)
