Trying to decide if I want to put on the 540s this weekend or just keep the clips and straps. So many decisions!

Scoured the sea of overpriced piece of **** conversions and builds on eBay and Craigslist for a Sw8 fixay.

No success.

Alas the curse of white saddles.
Don't worry there's salvation.

Repeated use will wear out the leather.

technically yesterday, but got right hooked for the first time. no major injuries, helmet cracked like it's designed to which is good, but scary cuz I almost left it home when leaving for class that morning.

Probably should have exchanged info, but I was shaken up enough and frustrated from trying to talk sense to the guy that I just went home. I'll have to pay for whatever repairs to my bike, but live and learn I guess.

After my first bike accident I was nice about it too, and my bike was totaled along with my collar bone. Next time someone hits me they're going to fix the problem they made.

Today, finally got my track bike back! Take a look at the old BB that I had replaced. The cups were that bad and I'm glad I finally got around to replacing. Could have been bad.

Today I was a bar tapin' fool.

New levers, calipers, bars, stem and chainring (42/16 110BCD -> 46/16 130BCD). Love these cane creek levers, so solid.

Old:

New:

Also fixed the bizarre ergo placement the previous owner set up on my 'Cross:

Then:

Now:

The SS tape is new (had two sets, why not?), managed to salvage the 'Cross' tape. SW8.

Seriously. It looks like someone used the back of a clawhammer to adjust those cups.

I should clarify. I bought my track bike on craiglist and the previous owner had stripped the teeth to remove the cups. He then drilled the cups to use some short of clamp to tighten it down. Unfortunately, that made it very difficult to remove. My LBS had to get creative to remove it. But, the grooves and gashes were actually there before the LBS. Don't know why you would ever do this. Those little bits to the right are the teeth to the cups.

Other than being ugly, were the bearings in the cartridge shot? Was it creaking? Those look like aluminum cups.

The bike was epic but I'm not sure if epicschwinn morphed into a bike that I ended u peddling for a couple miles.

The word "good" means many things; that's why a picture tells a thousand words.

The "P" stands for pie.

Found out that my baby, a 2010 Surly Karate Monkey that I wrenched my ass off for, bled, went nights without sleep working that second job at the LBS, is being sold back to me. I drove home after finding that out and almost cried. I pawned that bike to pay rent and ****ty circumstances put it out of my reach. I'm so happy to have my baby back alongside my Handsome Devil. The only thing prettier is my wife and even she said she's worried now that there are two other "ladies" competing for my love in the house again

It was bad enough when it was just the Devil
