rim question scrod.
do you have any recommendations for a good alternative to a open pro rim? im looking for black nmsw box section rim to build around my formula hubs. 32 hole and i weigh around 165/170 |
id like to but they are a bit to expensive for a build right now, i saw the H+son tb14's but those range around 70 or so a wheel...plus i dont think they make an open pro in nmsw do they?
im going to have a lbs build my wheelset up and they carry a box section but i cannot remember the name, they are around 40 per. |
The Open Pro CD is as close as you're going to come:

i know i want those soooooo bad
i was kind of hoping because of your background/experience youd have experience with some mid grade rims that work well for commuting and general riding. |
|
If you really want them just save a little more money. It'll be worth it (probably).
|
Honestly, I say sell your Formula hubs for whatever you can get for them and buy a complete wheelset from VeloMine or you're going to spend way too much money having a mid-grade rim laced to your mid-grade hubs.
Also, the Alex R450/Formulas we have in stock are decent. I'd ride them. |
There's the Sun me14a.
|
He wants non-machined sidewalls.
|
Scrod does that Pasela TG with Kevlar bead is foldable?

And their advertised thickness are spot on? Or something like rando's that are in fact thinner. |

I know I can order them from Merry Sales (Somafab/IRD) but I've never even see them in real life.
They've got machined sidewalls though. |

herm. |
Opinions on Soma 456's?
|
We ordered some for a customer recently and they seem decent if you're looking for cro-mo track drops without shelling out Nitto dollars.

How do you like the B123-AA's? Are they as stiff as the cro mo B123's? |
The only ones I've ever ridden with are the 31.8 version (on a customer's bike) and they were stiff as hell.

I got a guy from eBay asking if I will ship to Malaysia.. Would shipping be a total *****? More than $40 I'm assuming..
and I also got another eBay msg asking if a guy wanted to trade his two Velocity B43's with origin 8 hubs. Now I see what you mean by those questions you got. |
Shipping via Priority Mail International will be about a hundred bucks and you'll only be able to insure it for $500. Other carriers will be much more expensive. If he's willing to pay it and understands that you won't be able to insure the full amount, pack it up exceptionally well and ship it.
