Gator Hardshells have crappy sidewalls, IMO.
Not sure if you recall what happened when I tried Michelin Pro4s when they first came out but I literally had one blow right off my front rim while I was cornering at a pretty high speed and I still don't really understand how I pulled off not eating ****. The roadies can keep 'em. |

Have you ridden your GP4000's or your 4Seasons yet?
Between their two offerenings with the 4 seasons and the Gator Hardshell, I feel the 4 seasons is the better tire. |

GP 4000 was hit or miss for me, had a set last until the chords, then had another set that only survived a week.

The 4000s is a great tire, been on mine for about 6 months; 20 miles daily with 0 issues.
|
sounds like i got an awesome tire. thanks guys.
|
Any chance you could recommend a quality but budget friendly low-flange rear track hub (or hubset)?

Dude. Those nittos are stiff as f*ck.
|
Tomorrow the endurance training begins, it's definitely on this time. Should I make the him go through a climb that lasts for 3 miles with sections having a grade of over 12%?
|
This is the dude who blew you off? I say dig deep and give the bastard everything you've got.

Hub recomendation for 75% of people: Get yourself some formulas if you have a strange spacing, if not get some novatechs.
|
So I may the guy suffer today in fact gave up after 10 miles. Now what?
|
Wait, some guy you're supposed to be endurance training with bailed after only 10 miles!?!?!
|
Yeah, he said he was too wiped out. He couldn't keep up on a 4% grade climb. He's going to have to find someone else to help him out the next time, I'm done with him. This was the same guy who made me wait an hour and a half before calling to say he wasn't going to make it back on Monday.

I'm not aware of any low flange hubs by either of those folks. I'm not super opposed to high flange hubs. But, I do prefer the aesthetic of low-flange, and figured I'd try to find some affordable ones before I pull the trigger on another set.

Otherwise I'll probably just suck it up and go with a circus monkey road hub in the front, and a lower-flange high flange hub, like the All-City New Sheriff in the back. |
FWIW - the New Sheriff has a pretty standard size high flange.
