Get a Charge Bucket! ^^^

It looks like a turbo but is a lot cheaper. Mine's been in the rain a lot and it's still doing okay, and even if it does get ruined it didn't cost much. Also I'm finding mine to be really really comfy

I've checked it out online and it looks like it's gotten some pretty good reviews. It also looks like it's distributed through BTI, so I could get it through my local shop. I will be considering that one. Thanks for telling me about it!

You changed your answer! :D

Just because it comes with brakes from BD?

Thanks again:o

hey scrod why do you choose to ride 49/17 and not anything higher/lower? what are your experiences with this ratio?
Also, do you think that having a higher ratio really makes you faster in sprints/ overall? thanks alot! this thread is great!

Turbos aren't made with leather like they used to be

Do a little more research. The 1980 reissue - which is the model currently available - has a nubuck leather cover and made to original specs.

calbob - Don't listen to evil. If you like the looks of the Turbo but don't want leather, the Charge Bucket is a good way to go. Not as comfortable as a Turbo IMO, but still a great saddle.

Because it's a better bike for "commuting" and only $20 more than a Moto Track or Windsor Hour.

I switch my ratio up quite often. I've found that 49/17 is a great all-around ratio (for me). It's not very hilly around here, I can do long sprints without spinning out and have found it's actually easier to stop/slow via resistive pedaling. It may not be for everyone, but I'm digging it.

the brev M saddle is another option, not real leather, but ive found it comfortable the 4 months ive had it. looks to be almost the same saddle as the charge bucket.

not my bike, but same saddle

I think he was referring to the Leader Cosmic Saddle.

Scrodzilla 10-13-11 12:05 PM

Whatever...don't listen to him anyway. He doesn't even know what kind of frame or crankset he has.

Hey scrojeera,
I noticed you have some leader kangeroos in stock. What are your initial impressions of them? Have you ridden one yet? Is it a "trackworthy" bike?

Scrodzilla 10-13-11 01:26 PM

I've never ridden on the track so when it comes to the Kagero being "trackworthy", I have no idea. I will say it's an extremely well-made, nicely finished and quite beautiful frame.

As for my initial response, I was pleasantly surprised. The color looks a lot nicer in person too.

Like 'nod'. For those who may not know, scrod is New England fisherman speak for "catch of the day".

This is me "thanking you later" for recommending the Kool Stop Bead Jack to mount the Gator Hardshells. It was a freaking breeze, so, thanks!

Scrodzilla 10-13-11 04:09 PM

No prob. I love the Bead Jack!

calv 10-13-11 04:09 PM

Dear Dave, is $60 dollars a cool price to sell for my B-17? Little expensive? Cheap? It's in good condition, doubt it's even broken in fully.

Scrodzilla 10-13-11 04:13 PM

I sold mine for $80.
