The best way is by having these: http://www.retro-gression.com/produc...ain-tensioners
That way, you wouldn't need to pull back on the wheel and tension by trial and error. They're great for making micro adjustments. |

That thread was so informative and conclusive that it was locked before the integrity of the information was compromised.

Scrod,
I've been mostly absent for the last few months. Have I missed anything good? |
Why do so many brands of SSFG frames max out at 58cm? Just a lack of demand for larger sizes, or is there some other reason?

Do I need shop experience to work at a shop? Or will "I do all my own ****." work as a resume?

It depends on the shop. There's a shop here in town who only hires techs who have gone through some sort of schooling (like Barnett's), yet I got a job at the old shop where I worked a few years ago by walking in to buy something and the owner said something along the lines of "Do you know how to install a headset? Tools are over there. Get it done".

Will a Sugino XD2 crankset be a notable upgrade over my current Sturmey Archer FCT-20? I can get a set with a 44t chainring and chainguard, and 42t spare ring for €50. It'll definitely look better on my bike, but I'm not sure if it will have any impact performance-wise?
And is a chainguard cool? Or will it impair my skidz and street-cred? |
Scrod,
whats your take on the Cinelli Gazzetta as opposed to purchasing the steamroller? |

Scrod,
whats your take on the Cinelli Gazzetta as opposed to purchasing the steamroller? They're two entirely different frames. One has tight track geo, one has relaxed geo and can fit fenders and big tires. Which suits your needs? |
