That way, you wouldn't need to pull back on the wheel and tension by trial and error. They're great for making micro adjustments.

just curious, does anyone run these on a frame with horizontal dropouts rather than track ends?

I don't even need to click the link to know what thread that is going to show.

Yeah, I almost felt like I had been Rickrolled when I clicked on it and remembered what that guy was advocating.

That thread was so informative and conclusive that it was locked before the integrity of the information was compromised.

Scrod,

I've been mostly absent for the last few months. Have I missed anything good?

jhess74 05-02-13 01:12 PM

Why do so many brands of SSFG frames max out at 58cm? Just a lack of demand for larger sizes, or is there some other reason?

Probably just lack of demand. The majority of frames my shop sells are between 51-55cm.

Aside from a few good FixedDriveJess episodes and some semi-recent drama in the RG thread, not really.

Do I need shop experience to work at a shop? Or will "I do all my own ****." work as a resume?

Maybe Scrod will write a letter of recommendation.

It depends on the shop. There's a shop here in town who only hires techs who have gone through some sort of schooling (like Barnett's), yet I got a job at the old shop where I worked a few years ago by walking in to buy something and the owner said something along the lines of "Do you know how to install a headset? Tools are over there. Get it done".

I get what you mean. Think I'm gonna hang out at the local co-op over the summer.

It looks decent. It's brand new and you most likely wouldn't be able to build it using those parts for less.

What exactly does it accomplish?

They use them for the "mother server/ spam gif host" to monitor BF's traffic, keyword farming, and cookie stuffing, a form of spamming where spammers embed links in gifs.

Know any way to fix this?

GENESTARWIND 05-03-13 09:53 PM

Comparable*

Scrodzilla 05-03-13 11:15 PM

K810SL

GENESTARWIND 05-03-13 11:27 PM

Do you know how well the chain I'm running holds up to abuse like running brakeless?

TijmenK 05-04-13 05:19 AM

Will a Sugino XD2 crankset be a notable upgrade over my current Sturmey Archer FCT-20? I can get a set with a 44t chainring and chainguard, and 42t spare ring for €50. It'll definitely look better on my bike, but I'm not sure if it will have any impact performance-wise?

And is a chainguard cool? Or will it impair my skidz and street-cred?

lmariach 05-05-13 02:24 AM

Scrod,

whats your take on the Cinelli Gazzetta as opposed to purchasing the steamroller?

Probably not.

Who gives a crap about what's "cool"?

This is like asking, "Should I wear flip flops or construction boots?"

They're two entirely different frames. One has tight track geo, one has relaxed geo and can fit fenders and big tires. Which suits your needs?
