Rode around for a few hours(I was lost for a bit actually) in the light drizzle we had here and this time it was by choice! Had a lot of fun (it was even nice to be a bit lost for a while)And I'm kind of looking forward to rainy weather. ( though I should really hurry up and get fenders)

Woke up to almost 3" of snow. This should be fun since I yanked the studded/mtb tires off the mtb and opted for slicks. Not feeling like battling the studded tire again so soon.

I was in Chicago this week and visited this shop (in Lombard)
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=514700
They have some really cool old bikes like this Schwinn track bike
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=514701
Or this BSA track bike with wooden rims.
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=514702
And modern stuff like these three. A PK Ripper which is basically a BMX with fatbike tires
What is supposedly a Cannondales entry into the fatbike market
and a fatbike cruiser with Vee brakes. Never seen a fatbike with Vee brakes.

One owner, Nevada car, 84k miles, XE with the voice module and everything.

Only issue is the head gasket is starting to go. Hasn't blown yet, but it needs to be replaced. Gonna rebuild the engine, see if I can get another 100 horses out of it. 250hp/2500lbs should be fun. I can at least get to 200 at the wheels I know.

2.2 Turbo? Those head gaskets are so easy to do.

****ing 200 mph. i cant even.

115 was the fastest ive ever been on my bike, i had about 30 more left on the speedo but i said that was enough. at those speeds i was hanging on, not riding

soon as i let off the throttle and sat up i saw lights in my mirror, and got the most expensive speeding ticket of my life lol

You was lucky dude. Over 100 usually gets you a reckless arrest.

~180 for me, on a regular (track) basis back a few years ago. :) A superbike is stable and yawning at 100. At 120 it only begins to wake up. After that, each 10 mph jump has it's own character. The difference from 140 to 150 is like, YES! The diff from 150 to 160 is like, UM! The diff from 160 to 170 is like YIKES, but still awesome. 180 is like, ok, this is serious, time to pay attention. Scary but delicious. Your field of vision becomes this narrow dot. Nothing exists except stuff that is 1,000 yards in front of you.

210? I have no clue, but it's got to be heavenly.

SCK 04-09-16 03:30 PM

It's pretty common, when I was still wrenching for a living at a Chrysler dealer we would still get them in from time to time. One of the techs used to scoop up those jobs quickly. He had it down to 20 minutes. Overall, the 2.2 Turbo is a stout engine that takes surprising amounts of boost well. We had a Shelby Charger that was up around 18 psi. No idea on the HP number, but it was fun.

yeah i wasnt an ***hole to the guy , i was polite, honest and forthcoming with my info so he wrote the ticket as 85 in a 50 which is the most before you get arrested and the bike impounded

he told me he thought i was gonna run, he was behind me for 3 exits but i was tucked so low i couldnt see anything but sky in my mirrors

i had gone to the dealership over the bridge in NJ to pick up a part, and on the way back the entire bridge and 3 miles before it were stop n go traffic, i was stuck in that **** for 2 hrs. it wasnt slow enough to stop and put it in neutral to give my hands a break, and i wasnt comfortable splitting lanes at that point, so i was feathering the clutch and the brake the whole time.

needless to say once i got over the toll plaza i was PISSED, so i cracked the throttle in ragemode and thats what it got me

MotoGP bikes will leave an F1 car like it's standing still on straight line acceleration.

HP-to-weight ratio is sheer lunacy. I'd give almost anything to ride one.

I enjoyed seeing your paramount more than any vigorelli.

Having had one for seemingly ages now, nobody bats an eye these days for cinelli builds.

I have that same stand, but the bench-mounted version. How do you like the free-standing one? I'm thinking about just adding a section of pipe to mine, and then welding that to a large steel plate, more like a shop stand for a little more rigidity.

TMonk 04-09-16 07:35 PM

kicked down 4 hrs at a steady, high pace. totally cooked. looking forward to some relaxing and easy rides next week. think I'm going to show up at the track next Tuesday just to drink beer and hang out.

If I can do it on my weekend I'll be happy.

I think the stock turbos were only boosted to like 5psi stock. I read the blocks can take a ton more than that.

This will be a fun project.

I took an 82 turbo 280zx engine and put it in my 1975 280z. Once you pass 7 pounds of boost you will have many challenges with the older engines. First, is getting enough fuel pressure and getting it quickly enough. But, it was a lot of great times playing with it.

These Lasers had really crappy fuel pumps off the lot, so an upgraded pump is about the only nonstock part on it. I'm only shooting for around 12psi, which it should take easy.
These 2.2s will handle 25psi with few issues according to the Internet.

Coincidentally, the guy I bought this Laser from blew up the KA in his Silvia last night.

Went out to see Raiders of the Lost Ark in 35mm with my girlfriend for my B-day. It was really great to see it in original form. Walked down to the german bar, had a liter of beer plus sausage and pretzel and a good time.
