I don't like it any more than you do, but its a necessary evil at the moment.
Before this happened http://www.pricepoint.com/images/hom...016/closed.png, I got a nice pack with 100oz capacity for $20. |
Today I sold my road bike. I'm contemplating another in the future, I really dig the Wraith Hustle -- but that'll have to wait a bit.

Some good information here on bottle mounts for those of us interested. Those that are not don't have to read the thread.
Today at work, I was questioned by the new guy, low man on the totem pole. He might have been at the top at his previous job, but with us, he is the FNG. On my shift, I am at the top. Will be 20 years here in October. Dude has been with us for like 20 minutes. Keep gunning for it sonny boy, keep gunning. |

fun fact: athletes back in the day used to specifically not drink water during races, it was basically cheating

Yeah, no. It's getting to be a pretty sore subject here in SD.

I carry my water bottle in a hip pouch that I have when I ride dirt/long distance, if the bottle is anywhere near your bike it's just going to get covered in dirt/mud anyways. |
I have bottle cages on my bike. I have a timer on my garmin to remind me to drink water every 15 min or else I don't drink until it's way too late.
|
Also the bay area has a huge roadie scene, but oxygen masks and altitude tents haven't caught on yet, thank god

Why didn't you grind some of the welds down before PC'ing? Coulda used a dremel or something

Yeah, aluminum welds are ugly. Now I can stop playing with with wheel bearings and build this thing so it can get back on the road. https://www.dropbox.com/s/bhvtaua499...t.001.jpg?dl=1 https://www.dropbox.com/s/3itpp08jsq...t.002.jpg?dl=1 https://www.dropbox.com/s/tc2769puy5...t.007.jpg?dl=1 https://www.dropbox.com/s/n1iuicw0ci...t.004.jpg?dl=1 |

The stiff aluminum frame isn't worth that kind of work anyway and probably wasn't worth the cost of powder coating as it is. |

But seriously, I don't do strap on accessories. Too OCD about precise tight fit. I wish I wasn't, but I am. |
because water bottles hanging off the seat rails of converted beach cruisers arent strap on accessories either.

Bought this frame for my gf off Ebay. We've been taking classes on the SD Velodrome (she's been talking about it for as long as we've been dating), and she really loves playing bicycle Nascar for some reason. I was on the fence about getting my own track bike (I hardly have enough time to ride the wonderful roads here in Carlsbad), but I suppose now I'll have to do it eventually.

They'd be bolted on with metal brackets. Just my preference for stability. Not a fashion thing. What does the type of bike have to do with anything? |

Hope she's tall! :) Will post pics of the build's progress. This whole bike-Nascar thing is new to me, so it's going to be a learning experience. And yeah, she's 5'11" standing in one sock. Might have to order one for Waterford for myself as I'm 6'2" and can't find a used frame in my size to save my life. |
Your girlfriend is tall!
Excellent find! I second the "like new" motion! The paint on those track ends look unadultered in any manner! |
