Fixed.

Cassave 01-18-08 01:16 PM

NWS predicts 20mph winds for tomorrow.
I'm thinking a northbound ride is not my deal.

Starting from the Commons at 8 with VB, anybody else?

ovoleg 01-18-08 01:21 PM

nah not riding to palmdale, I'm thinking toward Santa Monica area

urbanknight 01-18-08 03:16 PM

Ovo, do the Montrose Ride tomorrow. You can shoe Redal what you're made of.

We did Little T-Soledad-Aliso-AF-Big T loop today... and let me just say that you are wise to avoid that region. We had a monster headwind from Sand Canyon Rd to the top of Aliso. And then for good measure, the wind shifted for us, and gave us more headwind all the way back to Big T. It's been a long time since I was so glad to end a ride.

I've done that ride many times and the conditions were always the same as you described today, hellish. Watch, the TDC will have a tailwind.

I'm going to ride toward Santa Monica's tomorrow or do the 30ish miler and then split off.

Vance you coming?

Only if you promise to let me sign your cast.

I didn't realize we basically did the Two Tujungas route:

http://www.shprung.com/sfvbc/G/?ride=LAWM-T8

That elevation profile is enlightening, as I didn't realize Aliso-Big T climb is essentially double the climbing of the Little T portion. Explains a lot.

^ The only thing I remember from that ride you linked to, is that it was hard! at that time it was hot & hard.

Vance, look like you riding big rides almost every day.
How many miles you consume in a week these days?

I, this weekend, need to be with the family so I can do only very short ride Saturday.
Will do it with level-2 from cSun and take some photo of the 'slower' group.
I am going to miss RJ century too
The next long ride (or more accurate, many hour ride) will be a BF ride : the 'tour' to SB in Feb.

Mario was off work this week, so he wanted to jump-start getting back into shape with a "training camp week". lol. I only did 3 days, though, and today shredded me, so I'm taking tomorrow off! Gotta be well rested for M.E.'s hammerfest on Sunday. ;)

Awwwwww did ovo fall off his bike again? You know my 4 year old niece just took off her training wheels. You can have them. They are pink so they should go with your bike perfectly.

This coming Saturday is a birthday century for R.J., and he has changed the route this time to one that I like better. Hopefully, it won't rain this time. Everyone is welcome, the usual start time and place, CSUN at 8:00.

urbanknight 01-21-08 10:49 PM

Does he have to blow th candles out at the top of the longest hill?

If you're willing to bring a birthday cake with candles on the ride, I'm sure he will blow them out, after we sing "Happy Birthday". Last year Caren brought birthday hats and people put them on their helmets. Of course, the wind and rain took care of that.

Does this mean you're coming?

urbanknight 01-22-08 08:27 AM

Decisions decisions. I am currently signed up to do a century on the SGRT with other BF members, and I'm still waiting for my wife to tell me which day the home auction is (we're not buying yet, but we want to see how these things work), so I'll let you know.

Forecast calls for rain again, btw

I forgot about the SGRT ride. I haven't forgotten the rain, though, and if it's raining a lot, I'm not doing a century.

BJ, if it does rain, want get muddy again?

Cassave 01-22-08 10:05 AM

CRAP.
I've got a sinus infection so I'm taking the week off from commuting
and now NWS has showers predicted for the weekend too.

RJ should move his birthday to June.
