Thanks. GRRRRRRR. F#@^&*g mid-30's and rainy for today and tomorrow. Then I'm working all weekend. Craptastic weather. Just a couple degrees colder and it'd be snow. I'm fine riding in snow, but absolutely hate riding in rain. I attribute this to having grown up in the northwet.

Did the Front Range Trail from downtown out to the north gate of the Air Force Academy. Still quite a bit of left over snow and I never thought that trail would get soft but it finally did and it was definitely slow going. Fun ride because the sun was shinning and it was in the 50's so slow was fine with me. Should have had the wife snap some shots of all the mud and gravel that me and the bike were wearing.
I know that if I turn my rear WTB Velociraptor it's in mud mode but it did fine without being flipped. I am still so happy that I did the tire research and picked out these tires. Old design from the Front Range area and still works. I hope they don't stop making these tires. Thanks WTB

Got a quick 40min ride in at the Mansion. 12.7°F makes that squishy "Mudwest" trail disappear and shredding the crapper was on the menu.
It's funny how much faster you can go when you need to keep the legs moving to stay warm☻

Does an hour on the trainer while watching South Park count as a ride?

Today was a good one. Just working on not plowing into the wet landing area.
Farty threw in a bit more style - he got quite a bit more crossed up, but I didn't catch that bit.

We rode out near Folsom Lake (puddle is more like it right now) in CA. A little chilly - low 40s today, and we were right on the lake, so I was glad to be sporting some warm clothes. It was kind of weird though - I had some serious stomach issues before I left so I took some Immodium on the way to the ride. Felt great when I got on the bike, had a fantastic ride, made all the challenging spots along the way, etc. Got back in the car and immediately my stomach started growling and cramping like crazy. I got home very quickly.

Wasn't out too long today but was able to get in an hour worth of shuttling on snow.

I went to North FLA today for a Christmas visit to the in-laws & brought along the old MTB. I had loads of fun! I found some old horse trails & though some of it was really soft sand, a lot was pretty hard-packed & I met some cool cows along the way:

I got out for an hour of grunting today. The trails were covered in ice and packed frozen trodden snow with hiking bootprints everywhere. Bumpy...OMG!!! I usually run upwards of 40psi in my studded tires to keep the studs facing the right way, but I dropped my pressures from 40 down to 15 (I'm 200lbs, haha)
It's amazing how much nicer the ride is with so much less pressure. I figured it was a grunt-fest anyways b/c there's no place to get up any speed, so I wasn't worried about pinching out.
I did actually get to the "vomit" point though. I thought to myself "Self...if you push a little harder, you could tell the world you rode so hard you lost your lunch...that or you could ease off just enough to keep lunch in it's proper place." I chose to keep my pizza down.

Really quick edit from our ride today. All urban crap (unless you count the mud in front of the school). It was like 35-40 degrees (F) out. I just thought this was funny.

Went out with a few buddies for the first ride of 2009 and my first ride since I injured my shoulder early in November. We have lots of snow here so it was a grind but fun. Had to get pics hitting some stairs just off the parking lot and drifting an open corner.
