Was too lazy to build up a mavic wheel that would be compatible with the pike, so I simply got whatever wheel that the shop had in stock. It's the Big Earl front wheel, so far I'm really impressed with it.

heres a pic of my rockhopper, completely stock except for tires and handlebars, some FSA XC180 i got quite cheap, the weight difference is not very big from the stock ones but since the frame is XL i needed to be more aerodinamic, they are not riser anymore.

nice ride man. like the colour and the DC shoe co. sign XD
well, i got my ride today as well. WooT!!! ;D
everything is still stock, and ill think ill leave it as that for now. except for the reflectors...did you guys take them off with a screwdriver? because i tried and sort of forced it since it wasnt moving and only crapped up the plastic screw so i wondering how you guys did it. the front relectors i could take off but the back ones wont budge. T__T
well heres the pics.

After...attempted failed...

ehhhhhhhh?? pics arent showing? why~ is it because they need to be >100k? if so, how do i make them smaller?

And here is my new rig. I've updated it since this photo with Thomson Elite post, FSA Carbon risers, XTR kit and some titanium bolts.

The old rig is a Trek Y-50 which was a limited edition bike in 1997. It was selling for £4599 back then which made it the most expensive bike at the time by a long way. I managed to get it in 2002 for £600 with a load of crap parts but managed to fix it up with some Pace RC36 forks and a complete XTR groupset. Only problem was the URT suspension which worked great on road but off road made the bike ride like a wild stallion. My friends would take the pi$$ out of my riding saying I was no good, I tried to explain it was the bike that was so hard to control. They only believe me now my friend Bert has it and the fact that I can whoop their a$$e$ now on my nice shiny Superlight.
The Superlight has changed my riding quite a bit. Out of a team of 8 or 9 of us I was always somewhere in the middle of the group on rides in Wales, now I'm right at the front all of the time. I know a bad workman always blames his tools but my old tool was busted. It is so much more fun at the front because you HAVE to ride faster so as not to hold anyone up.

I guess I might as well post the bike...even though it was finished but now it's not due to some parts breakage, hence the reason the chain is hanging out of the way on the bike (if you're wondering why, look at the chainring).
A quick summary of the build:
- Peugeot Fun Star steel frame, 54cm, from 1989
- Dimension disc specific fork (for CX), only 1" rigid fork I could find with disc brake mount
- Specialized bar and stem, Tange 1" headset, Profile Design grips
- Shimano levers, Hayes HMX-1 front disc, Avid SD SL rear V-brake
- Front wheel: Mavic X139 with Specialized stout hub and XT skewer
- Rear wheel: some cheap Norco steel wheel with a 16T freehub
- Specialized Roll-X tires 26x2.0
- Kona saddle, Peugeot post
- Original Peugeot chain...this thing is bulletproof!
- Peugeot crankset/BB and 32T 74mm BCD ring....or at least that is what is used to have
- Shimano M505 pedals
