Kinda old-school - ~'93 Dean Hardtail. XT shifters/derailuers, Onza canti front brake (soon to be Avid V), Campy rear. Brand New XT HTII crank (Cooks Bros. pictured), XTR hubs, Syncros quill stemm (soon to be Ritchey threadless), XTR threaded headset (soon to be Ritchey threadless), Manitou 4 fork (soon to be RS SID Team).

You of course realize that running a new Sid on a 12 year old frame will completely sodomize the handling of your bike right?

Because they didn't have 80 mm XC forks back in 1993. It will raise the front end dramatically slowing handling. That's why

they had 63s though...I seriously doubt that 17mm of difference will "sodomize" the handling. I think that the net change in HT angle is less that a half of a degree

Find me the amount of travel the 1995 Manitou 4 actually had because there wasn't one in 1993.
I still don't see the point in making all the changes on a 12 year old bike.

My other Cross Country bike is a hardtail
1996 Klein Pulse II - Last of the original Klein frames before being acquired by Trek

Rearward facing dropouts, Gradiant Tubing, internal cable routing, incredible factory paint jobs. 2.9lb frameset. Total bike weight is 22 lbs.
