Your lowish HR and highish power are admirable. I have neither.

Don't let them steer you away from this idea, mz. Steel bikes are not generally flexy or mushy. It depends what bike, what condition, your capabilities, etc. A lot of flex comes from wheels, anyway, and they will be modern. I almost did the same thing with my Wojcik but decided to sell it to a collector and buy the Felt instead. I couldn't deal with wrecking an irreplaceable custom bike in a race.

You inspired me to go do a 5 minute power test.... it was not impressive, but I did nearly barf a lung.

It looks like you are well on your way back and that you have some of that cursed natural ability. Nicely done, and your bikes look great!

A few, did you want to see how the rack was attached? It's a Yakima rack.

OK, that's fair, but I spent a lot of years racing steel bikes...Miyata, Fuji, Basso. Some were stiffer than others. The real noodly bikes of the era were lugged aluminum, i.e. Alan, Vitus. So you can't draw finite conclusions based on material alone.

Hope everything works out ok mz.
