My family's first two computers were black and white. Then we got a fancy black and green screen computer which had, get this, 3 different levels of green. Dad had to pay extra for the 2-bit video action.

I remember when AOL was the major service provider and Ask Jeeves was a popular search engine.

I was thinking about Ask Jeeves a few days ago.

Indeed. My first computer course was done on terminals that didn't even have screens. They were a keyboard and a printer with a roll of yellow paper in it. The mainframe wasn't the size of a house though. More like a really big refrigerator. There was a giant keypunch rig where the teacher speachified.

My wife's first family computer was a Radio Shack TRS-80.

Better yet, I remember my Atari 400 computer (had keyboard). Instead of disks it saved programs on cassettes.

I can't stand Dell but I just saw a commercial for the Dell Flipped. That thing is pretty damn cool.

I ran Dells for my business until this current laptop (HP). They were pretty reliable. We still have my wife's old Dell Inspiron laptop (circa 2002) that runs fine -- her main computer is a MacBook Pro now.

I had Dell desktops in the past and I have had some Dells at my office. My Dell laptop is the biggest piece of crap I have ever owned though. It's the last Dell product I'll ever buy. If my budget allows, my next laptop will be a Toshiba.
I do think that Dells more expensive computers are fine, it's their budget laptops that suck.
