does anyone know where in t.o. stocks VITTORIA TIRES?

more specifically, pairs of 1) WHITE RUBINO PROs and 2) BLUE OPEN CORSA EVO CXs?

also, prices, if known, would be great! thanks!

Vittoria's are pretty common, although whites may be harder to find. Honestly, few places can compete with PBKs prices. White Rubino pros are $20 per on there right now.
http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=Y1151
And blue open corsa's are $36 http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=Y1060

And that's before the 10% open discount. WIth free shipping, it's hard to beat.

The last Rubino Pro I bought locally cost $35.

Jet I found your old thread. I guess Nitto has some nice 27.0 ones. What did you end up getting?

I ended up getting an el-cheapo Kalloy from Urbane for about $20 or so. It is nothing fancy but it does the trick.

I talked to someone at Duke's and he said that RaceFace makes a 27.0 setback post but they are pretty expensive, well over $100 and it just wasn't in the cards for me.

How much setback is there on the Miche Supertype?

Yes for sure. You need a ride with a long seat tube to make it work. They are supershort.

jet sanchEz 05-07-08 05:17 PM

If I hadn't just picked up a sweet Dura Ace 27.2 seatpost, I would have been all over the Supertype, they look nice and I like the setback.

pyze-guy 05-07-08 05:31 PM

Happy Birthday to the birthday boy. Mec money is great.

I like the climbing shants from there, stretchy and super comfy.

Flimflam-I ditched the stock pads and put koolstops in today. Much, much better. The tektro ones were alreadyworn out.

Jer, thanks again for the bike and parts. All will be put to good use.

Thanks for that. I think the Miche...short of being a nice looking post...is crap. I find the "Safety System" on it very ironic.

nerdsgirth 05-07-08 06:39 PM

Some NY freestyle dude broke it while pulling a wheelie...

Any recommendations for waterproof booties that will fit over my Sidi Eagles?

Yep. Good stuff. Best applied to both you and the chamois. I find if I just try to apply to an Assos chamois, it will soak up a lot of the creme (too much).

I find that's the case with most chamois-cream, though I don't usually use the stuff anyway. I've had the same tube of Chamois Butt'r for about 2 years now.

Pretty sure MEC has Koolstops, TJ - as does Urbane - the selection at MEC is a bit more limited, I think they're only the canti ones there (from my last check ages ago). Not sure where else, I've not looked to be honest. I'll be going to get mine very shortly.

Glad I remembered my rain pants today as I had to go upto Yonge/Eg after the GO to Union. Always catches me off guard when I skid a little due to backpedaling in the slippy rain. I rode home down Yonge to Davenport over to Dupont then down Bathurst, and I have to say I had the worst 'treatment' I've had in a while on the roads on Bathurst - just general inattentiveness and folks straddling both lanes when there were parked cars (these are folks that are in a line of moving traffic, just everyone else is in the correct position in the centre lane). Nothing really happened, I backed out of whatever close call would've happened in the squeeze but it's annoying to be disregarded. C'est la vie de la cycliste! :)

Edit: almost forgot the Dr. Benway siting - Bay/College at around 6:20pm tonight - different (weather friendly looking) ride which is what threw me off for a sec.

Anyone else planning on hitting up the premier of Seasons (the new film by The Collective) tomorrow night at No Regrets? http://www.thecollectivefilm.com/schedule_canada.html

Herbie_Glick 05-08-08 06:20 AM

what's the cover? oh and yell out of your office "Ryan smells" that would be funny.

Well, not the snot part but I'm going for a ride. What time are you wanting to go?

shapelike 05-08-08 07:56 AM

I can be at the Pottery Road trailhead for any time between 4pm and almost-dark. I kind of prefer earlier vs. later but whatever works.

~Stuart~ 05-08-08 08:15 AM

sometimes life is soo ****ed up....

i just got offered a job that could send me round the world, and lots of money... but no bikes, no climbing, no outdoor fun in general...

*must finish latest bike asap, and buy laptop to stay in touch with all the ssfgbf shenanigans*

I think that frame is awesome but maybe, for that price, it would be better with gears. You can find a whole bike for that price.

I'm planning on heading there straight from work at 4:30.

~Stuart~ 05-08-08 09:14 AM

see... this is where all you guys will loose lots of respect for me (because you dont know me too well)

not gay porn... lol

well heres the story... a thursday like 3-4 weeks ago i was walking near work, after having climbed for 4 hours, and worked on my bike (covered in chalk and grease), and this random woman ran out of a restaurant and chased me down. When she caught me she says "Hey can i talk to you?" then looks at my friends and says "not you, keep walking", turns back to me and goes "Have you ever tried modeling?" so i laugh hysterically, she hands me a card, some guy follows her out of the restaurant and starts yelling "fabulous" and "amazing" and "money". somehow i managed to hear the third one through my laughing, but i didnt think anything of it.
I go home and google the stuff on the card, anyway, the guy is one of the biggest names in the male model world, and runs an agency...
So on the friday, i go in (like really what can it hurt? might make a quick buck) and i talk to them for a bit, then he takes like 3 face shots, and sends them off... then a scout from milan (for gucci) hauls ass over from his hotel room to meet me, takes a couple pictures, sends them off... anyway, i had been told i might go to paris for the summer to do catwalk, but i got a call today telling me im off to milan some time next week, and might be back in august....

650$ a per job (thats like 2 hours work, of walking like 120m and pausing for 10 seconds)

*crickets chirp in the awkward silence*

anyway... yea...

anyone got a chris king headset, and some road drops, bar tape? i wanna set up my bike before i am banned from riding a bike for a whole summer (well... im not allowed to ride a bike, as of when i first met them... yea right... no fun stuff at all really... right near the alps, but no speedboarding/street luge... no biking, road or mountain, no rock climbing)

now im going downstairs (im at work) to see if i can fit my bike, in a bike box, inside a duffel bag (might be able to sneak it over)

shapelike 05-08-08 09:50 AM

Have fun, try to save your money, keep your head on straight and realize it won't last forever.

Also, do some research on others who have been in the industry so you have an idea of what to expect. You really have to look out for yourself in that sort of situation.
