Today the Chain Dropper had a visit from a College Triathlon Coach. Mrs. Doug28450 was present for the visit. During my brief discussion with Mrs. Doug28450, she said the Coach is very interested in Chain Dropper.

Vain, But Lacking Talent
With the BDerailment going on, all the threads sort of started to meld together and it was hard to remember which was which. And then I thought, "Wait, don't ALL these threads in the 41 become indistinguishable after two pages?"

The NYT asploding carbon article has reared its ugly head again in the General Section. Can't believe I stray there.

I have certainly seen similar before. I bet that would frame up nice in a shadow box. Lovely.

I used to have a weekly car-washing routine, when I had a hose and an asphalt driveway. Now I just run through the gas station car wash about ever other fill-up, except when it's below freezing.

...so on a totally random note, it's raining here again, and I'm spending the day going through the last boxes of my mom's stuff (she only died like three years ago. ) It's the photo boxes, which are in total disarray, and my mother, like many of her generation, never tossed a photo (no matter how awful.)
So I'm into my second cup of coffee, and my third box of photos, tossing about 90% of them as either unrecognizable or meaningless to me. And right at the bottom of that one I find a ziploc bag with a notation that the contents are my maternal grandfather's prayer book. Kinda fancy, "The form of Daily Prayers according to the custom of the German and Polish Jews" in Hebrew and English, with a publication date of Vienna 1857 and some kind of ivory colored celluloid plastic smooth boards. I never met him, he died long before I was born.
He was, I'm given to understand, from a very orthodox family. #cool

That is some interesting stuff right there. It might be interesting to take it to a Rabbi and see what he can make of it.

Thanks guys. As a junior, time will tell. We have two campus visits set up for her this spring. One at Arizona State and one at Liberty. Unless she really turns the jets on in her races this summer I think ASU is out of the question. I think that if she works hard and gets her times down, Liberty is a possibility.

Do not, I repeat, go near the General Forum. I feel dirtier after I leave there than I do in some of the BS that gets thrown around in the 41 and that's pretty bad.

I am reminded of the analysis of Plankton from Spongebob: 1% evil, 99% hot gas. Same could apply to the 41.

The tandem forum is pretty goofy, also. C&V can get weird from time to time, too. I'm beginning to sense a pattern here.

That is pretty standard stuff. Daily prayer book for the morning and evening minyans (assembly of at least 10 adult Jews for prayer). Likely presented to the owner on his Bar Mitzvah to be used for the rest of his life.
