Oh please, he was a minor leaguer, LAJ would have him for breakfast. All mouth, no action. Don't get me started on that guy.

Billy and umd did not get along. Not a great fight to pick.

Just like OCLV and Gary.

OK, all you beetroot people. How do you prepare it? I bought some over the weekend and have eaten some raw. I was impressed. Very sweet.

Boil whole in salted water until a knife pierces easily. Slide the skins off, trim ends and slice or cube. Eat warm as a veggie or cold in salads. Or trim and peel with a vegetable peeler and cut into 1" cubes. Coat with olive oil, salt and pepper. Roast at 375°F.

Great both ways

Borscht is the best way. Otherwise this:

Drizzled with olive oil, loosely wrapped in foil and roasted

So after a scorching hot MUP ride today, I noticed that my 2 week old GP4000 on the rear wheel has a slash in the sidewall, about half an inch long (vertical), and the tube is bulging out a bit.

Should I just throw some superglue on it and maybe glue on a bit of old tube inside the tire? This always happens to mostly new tires.

I documented this in one of the earlier Addictions.

I tried repairing with old tube, eventually adding a plastic insert to reinforce. But over time the cut/bulge grew and eventually I surrendered.

Those tires have that rep. Maybe some shoe goo instead of the superglue.

correct. Also good in Borscht. The leaves can be used just like you would with spinach, either cooked or added to salads.

Well trained, of course. In perfect health, great nose, extremely smart, and of course a natural guardian.

I might even consider delivering her personally, I have a few peeps I haven't visited in a long time. No extra charge. :)

Come visit, bring the dog (and then of course take her home with you), and we'll go for a (mercifully short) bike ride and perhaps a somewhat longer sail.

Aw and speaking of sailing, I can't look at FB right now. Half our sailing friends are in the BVI right now on charter boats, that trip looks delicious. We had been planning on going but too much lost income this year with the eye surgeries, we had to bail.

Sorry about your luck. Time for a new tire.

Roasted or boiled?

LesterOfPuppets 04-30-17 05:17 PM

There's a brew pub in Portland with a beet melt sandwich. I'm gonna try to get out there and try it out.

My favorite non-borscht beet treat was deep fried beets!

He posted here last week.

Lol Ex vs Gary, who is faster? Good question. I actually don't know.

You'll have to get them both out there on that almost perfect rectangle course!!!

Salt, olive oil, in a deep pan, cover with tin foil, roast. The skin you can peel right off after roasting. Use in salads or whatever.

Ugh. That course is ugly. It's no place for a match race of historic proportions. ;)

rjones28 04-30-17 05:46 PM

Mrs. rjones28 is roasting some beetroot.

rjones28 04-30-17 05:46 PM
