Pickled beets are also good.

Course, almost anything pickled is good.

I've not been introduced to Aunt Nellie. But I'll keep an eye out.

Also, beetroot greens are good as a pesto (as well as carrot tops, FWIW)

I'm still hungry for more food. Fancy instant ramen would hit the spot. I have no fancy instant ramen.

And, if it's hairy, it's a dust mop.

She is only smaller than *large* cats.

She is bigger than *small* cats.

Ergo:

Dog.

What about the flux capacitor?

And, don't forget to rotate/swap your front wheel bearings to get more life out of them.

datlas 04-30-17 07:03 PM

The end would be near, but I am guessing we are sticking with quarters for now.

datlas 04-30-17 07:04 PM

I went back and read some of the early Addiction threads, but there was serious loss of continuity thanks to Razor deleting his posts. Looks like iJen/VeloGator also deleted some (but not many) of hers as well.

Hmm...

Excellent, but I'll have to consult my lawyer if I have to sign anything.

Late night Razor.

Bingo. By comparison, the highest monthly totals we've gotten in the last few years is just 5k, compared to 13k then.

We discussed cycling content back then?

There's only a very few things I can tolerate with vinegar. Yuck!

Who was Razor and why did he delete his posts?

I know the IJen saga. Never went back and read it but I heard the summary. Sounds very strange, both that it happened and how some kind of witchhunt happened on Slowtwitch that leaked over into Addiction somehow. Not that I like a cheater. I actually understand the response that happened on Slowtwitch. But the Addiction thread? Maybe people in this thread used to take racing more seriously back then? (Which is not to imply I think the response was wrong, just that I can't quite see anyone here caring that much nowadays.)

As well, I hope he has gotten the bore framinized and the barrel glominated before that long trip.

Well there are also pickles made only with salt, no vinegar.

Razor was/is kid who needed to grow up. After a few infractions, battles with people and the like he threw his toys out of the cot. He finally got in a big sulk/huff and deleted all his thousands of posts and left bf with his nose out of joint.

+1

Maybe add some red wine vinegar for a bit of tartness as well. Don't take the skins off. By the time they're roasted the sweetness makes a good contrast to the earthy quality of the skins. Besides the skin is where most of the nutrients are.

I'll try to explain, but maybe you had to be there (here). This young lady was tremendously popular amongst the Addictionites, for whatever reason, lots of charm, whatever. So when she announced she was doing this race she received a lot of genuine, heartfelt support from just about everybody. Everyone was happy for her, everyone wanted her to be a success. It was a gala event, we had a lot of fun online back in those days.

Everyone took her on her word that she was legit, and when the story came out and was dissected it became clear that she had planned her cheating from the beginning and that she was a fraud after all. I can't speak for everybody, but I think people felt betrayed and lied to by someone whom they considered a friend. It was hard to accept and hard to comprehend why a friend would intentionally deceive you. I think for most it just felt like betrayal, maybe even a stab in the back . . . because they genuinely supported her.

I believe there are some who would have accepted her and forgiven her in the long run had she returned ... that's the kind of nice people we have here ... but she never returned, for reasons we can only guess.

I think that it was a pretty small minority that cared/were offended and I would characterize it as self-exile, not being run out of town. I think that, once it was apparent that she wasn't coming back, it took on new life as one of those uncomfortable jokes.

BTW, I don't know anyone that would iJen a course *cough* RPK79 *cough* :innocent:

As well, she wasn't known for taking on challenges like this half marathon. She was just a regular cyclist like most of us. Unlike true athletes in this thread who compete regularly, this was an unheard of thing for her - a regular person vowing to climb a mountain. I guess we admired her spirit to tackle such a feat.

LAJ 04-30-17 08:07 PM

There was upside to the iJen thing... She actually rode the whole bike leg. Looking at the time, I know it was a death-march on that bike, as I very much doubt she had ridden further than 40-50 miles previously.
