I've never considered myself a TV nut, but I watch more TV than some of you guys. TV doesn't even come on until 6:30 pm when I watch Scott Pelley and the world news on CBS. Then it's reruns of Modern Family from 7 - 8 pm. Then it's either more sit-coms (very selective) or sports programming (very selective), or non-tv activities until bedtime.
Football season and March Madness season are a MUST. |
Oof. Heal up Dan333SP

Thanks to the miracle of Amazon, I'll have a replacement hanger at my door by 5pm tomorrow.

My week's emotional roller coaster continues.
https://scontent.fphl2-3.fna.fbcdn.n...55&oe=59BE2AE7 Did my Sunday group ride. 30ish riders, all experienced racer types. Young kid allowed his front to overlap with another guy, some unexpected movement happened, and he went down about 3 riders ahead of me. We were at about 28mph so I had nowhere to go, hit the kid's bike and flew up and over the pile. Landed on my left elbow and skidded a bit. Helmet bruised my forehead but otherwise my head is intact. Left shoulder has some stuff going on inside, currently waiting to see doctor. EMS came but I was able to soft pedal back to my car. Bike is scratched up but fortunately the worst damage seems to be a bent hanger, dodged a bullet there. Anyway, these things happen. My kit is very bloody but fortunately it wasn't shredded. Gonna be sore for a few days methinks. Oh and thanks for the positive thoughts this week, and congrats to Heathpack! Great result and you look full on Darth Vader badass in your aero gear. Other than that, glad you survived and wishing you speedy recovery. :thumb: |

Can you get any hairier? :) And did you inspect yourself for ticks from sitting in that grass? The way your luck has been going lately, the LAST thing you want is Lyme disease, trust me.
Other than that, glad you survived and wishing you speedy recovery. :thumb: Now I'm paranoid about ticks... |

Congratulations Heathpack. That is a brilliant result.
When do we see you in Worlds? ;) Kudos to Dan for his acrobatics. At least the kit is intact. Also, good excuse to get yourself an AERO helmet. |
I did an unplanned, fasted century this morning.
Was planning to do the ~40 mile group ride, but then I woke up too early so I decided to just head out, figuring they'd catch me eventually. They were not catching me and I decided to do the long ride (~65 miles) instead. I don't know what happened but I never ran into the group. Kept going solo until I reached a closed road. Since I am useless and don't know where to go, plus I had no GPS with me, I wandered about for a while trying to find an alternative route, but failed miserably. So I headed back the way I came out. Well, that whole thing turned to a bit over 100 miles. No Strava unfortunately. :( Having breakfast right now. Feels good. :) |
The only thing that sucks more than mowing the lawn, is mowing the lawn and the lawn tractor's front wheel spindle snaps.
Sigh. |

You should retrace it with your Garmin on. |
I'm thinking of redoing it this afternoon, otherwise what's the point?

@Dan333SP, wow, what a terrible week. Might as well pile it all together though, that way you can be more efficient- might as well have miserable things happens when you're already feeling miserable, right?
Hang tough. Life is down and then its up. Hard to imagine when you're living through the bad stuff, but it will for sure swing back in the other direction. :) |

When I first retired and my wife was still working, she would come home every night and ask me what I had been doing all day. It got really irritating so I started making a list and writing down everything that I did even if it was really small. Wipe a rag across her bike and recorded it as "cleaned your bike." Go to the ATM up the street on the way to the coffee shop became "went to the bank." Pull a weed or two in the rock garden out front was recorded as "yard work." You get the idea. I would have this long list of things that I had done that took maybe an hour tops but looked like I had been slaving all day. Since then, talking to other retirees at the coffee shop, it seems that most men had come up with the same or similar solution. :thumb: |

Still stuck with cable internet though. If phone data wasn't capped I'd cut that cord too.

Could use the Comp Ultra Over-torque: Pro: good prices, get to buy a new tool. Con: may use proprietary bearing, Campy seems to have abandon the tech, assembly tool is hard to find Could go with Record Ultra-torque: Pro: plentiful, well-established tech, no special tools needed Con: pricey, need a bottom bracket conversion, don't get to buy a new tool |
