I watched it during my never ending Thailand flight. It wasn't what I expected. The premise was really interesting, but I felt like the resolution between them was rushed and the actual "save the spaceship" crap they had to do was cliche and silly. Definitely could have been better but no ragrets watching it. Plus Jennifer Lawrence.

It's never happened to me - on all of my camping trips, they've been my homies. One particular time, a dragonfly chose a twig about two feet away from my shoulder as his(?) base of operations. He was close enough that you could see his eyes tracking the biting flies. He'd abruptly take off only to return 10-15 second later with a snack. It was so very cool to see those wings and limbs fall off of the flies as the dragonfly quickly took them apart with its mandibles.

Yeah, the last third was definitely the weakest, but I don't think that they were aiming for the award circuits - popcorn fodder for sure, but it was entertaining enough.

This is interesting - spoilers, obv -

Since I can't find a live Giro feed, I have been following along on the official tracker, which has some interesting graphics and does show the overall situation on the road, and also some power/HR/cadence/speed data.

Wow, those guys can actually dial it up to not only 400W but 500+W and sustain it for a long time. Impressive. I suppose that's why they are pros and I am an enthusiast.

I don't remember the details, but I think the original 7-11 team rode Huffys.

They were on Huffy branded bikes for a few years, though they weren't really made by Huffy.

I've got one going from a link on YouTube and it's even in English for a change. It's a sneaky one. Search for the giro live and the link is below the video which takes you away to another site.

Oops! Don't bother. It just went dark. The giro is good at hunting these sites down and killing them.

I'm now watching it on RAI2 using a IP spoofer to get around the U.S. ban.

Yep. None were made by Huffy. Some were Serottas, IIRC.

The US has a ban on Giro feeds? Whatever for? Protectionism, I suppose.

indyfabz 05-25-17 07:42 AM

Weren't the track bikes in the L.A. Olympics in the 80s also Huffy or Huffy-branded bikes?

seedsbelize 05-25-17 07:43 AM

Last year I was here during the Giro, and it was on the tv in my hotel. This year I'm house sitting for my sister and bil, and it isn't available.

Both these visits have been cold and nasty. Don't think I'll do a May trip again. It was more pleasant when I was here last November for a wedding.

Television rights for N.A. we're bought by FUBO. You have to subscribe to get the feed to N.A.

European channels showing sporting events are usually blocked in the U.S., thus an IP spoofer.

Anyway, it's not the USA that blocks these things, it's whomever owns the TV rights.

Seems like they were Murrays.

Haven't seen it, but didn't he essentially doom her to death by waking her up for his own purposes?

Not exactly the best way to start a romance.

Ben Serrotta made bikes for 7 Eleven, originally branded as Murrays, then Huffy's.

He made bikes for US team for the 1984 Olympics in LA. I think they were branded as Murray, based upon this image:

Before I looked for images, I also thought it was Huffy.

Close enough.

The trickiest thing these guys need us to do is rebuild a 650c wheel. We don't keep those rims laying around the shop.

merlinextraligh 05-25-17 08:01 AM

And this picture,I came across looking for Huffys in the 84 Olympics, is relevant to nothing, but thought I'd share nonetheless:

In Addiction Medical News, I had my last visit with the surgeon. She actually said "yay" when I dropped my pants.

rjones28 05-25-17 08:04 AM

No more cycling restrictions. Weight lifting restrictions still in place until mid-June.
