Still on weight restriction which means I need to coordinate with Mrs. rjones28. A sub-15 pound bike would have been handy. :)

You don't have to pick it up, you just gotta ride the darn thing.

Looks like for Girona I will be stuck renting an Orbea. From what I can tell, the Avant will be more comfy than an Orca.

I know, first world problems.

I've been a member to some forums where any kind of personal attack was met with extreme force. It worked out amazingly well. Want to argue? Fine, argue about the subject, but any comments about the person you're arguing about and say goodbye. I'm guessing that's the guiding principles here, too.

Things are more lax in this thread, though. We all have to be able to make fun of PepeM's shoes. That's important.

So trails finally dried out and I was able to ride yesterday. I rode, and it was an epic ass kicking. I couldn't believe I'd missed enough rides to cause my fitness to drop SO much. Super slow, super high HR.

I get off the trail (after cutting it a few miles short). Pick up my back tire and spin it... it goes literally 6" before stopping. Yup, that's it.

So I've got a brake drag issue. They just bled the brakes last week when they replaced the levers. After that I put new pads on (couldn't before because they were out of stock). Now it's like there's too much fluid in there. You can barely touch the levers before they engage, and they were free before the ride, but as it went on the rears were dragging hard.

So what's the fix? Do I need ANOTHER bleed, or is this a simpler fix?

Speaking of PepeM's shoes. Those Giro Empires I bought? I still haven't worn them. Can't decide on pedals. Or rather, haven't bothered 'pulling the trigger' on pedals, since I am pretty sure I'll get Keo Blades or 105s. I feel like trekmogul with my shiny new shoes just sitting there on my shelf, with their fancy packaging, extra laces, and everything.

My last LT KB used 2AAA and lasted like a year, but then the letters wore off.

There's a KB for that. Have it and love it.

Believe it or not, he thought that he didn't let them out of his sight, either. He and his wife, both accomplished and wise cyclists, stopped at a cafe and sat at the outside seating with the bikes within a couple arms reach away. One second they were there and the next second they weren't. I checked with my wife to make sure I got the facts right as we both remembered and I had forgot there were two of them present when the bikes vanished.

In the book, In the City of Bikes: The Story of the Amsterdam Cyclist, the author relates a similar story where he stops at an outside cafe with a friend and both of their bikes disappear right under their nose. :)

I agree. At least here, it's a good natured and eclectic free for all.

Like I said a week or so ago, as a new mod I feel that I should visit forums that I seldom frequent. I'm amazed at the comments that so-called respected bf-ers make and often to new members. Posts that that are demeaning, rude, and plain uncalled for just because the user feels compelled to make others feel little or embarrassed or chime in with posts of absolutely no value. Nobody here gets paid by the post but I swear that some people must think they do.

On top of that, many people seem to take every post as a personal affront and a wrong that they must correct.

Seriously, some times I feel like I need a disinfecting dip after an evening of reading.

I kinda feel like you're the kinda guy who would have mismatched pedals/cleats. Look on one side, speedplay on the other...

That's the downside of wielding a banhammer. You have to go into all the forums including P&R, A&S and Trollheim.

Yes! This was / is the issue with them for sure. Don't think there's an option to use disposables though.

By rechargeables/disposables I mean the AA types of each. Do your mouse and keyboard take something else. Ususally they are interchangeable.

Nope, not P&R. I don't go anywhere near there. Billy can handle that one. :innocent:

Quick question: Do any of you other old, overweight guys get a lot of friend requests and follows from young girls who obviously can't afford clothes on Facebook and Twitter or is it just me and my teddy bear appearance?

I can't help you on so many levels. Not that old. Not that overweight. And no social media accounts, unless you consider BikeForums to be social media.

It's to give the children a fighting chance when they need to use it. By children, I mean other folks that aren't hard in the keyboard game.

Das is nice but I've got a headphone amp and don't need some of the features on it.

I've got a Razer BlackWidow RGB Chroma because I'm a child that's easily amused by blingy-blingy (although I do actually use the custom lighting for profiles for different games - definitely helps when you switch from one game to another).
