For bringing soft-shelled crabs and other goodies back from New Orleans. You got a problem with that?

If someone, even in an SUV or pickup truck randomly hits the gas in a parking lot, and they manage to miss the main door, they'll go through the wall. Intent doesn't matter. Since doors are small and walls are large, if you just randomly hit some part of the building, it's more likely to not happen on that armored entrance.

Not only the door area would be armored. You string a line of the barriers across the entire front of the building. Minute Maid Park has a string of 4 ft diameter concrete baseballs.

^ This man gets it, this time. Either the walls should be able to stop, say, an F-150 at 20mph, or extend the barriers there too. Again, huge amounts of the building and parking lot are made out of concrete. A few extra blobs can't cost much. Or even use those concrete-filled metal tube bollards. Bottom line is, there should be no "oopsie, I drove into the toiletries section" possible. Not without a tow truck.

I don't know why those big safety concrete car-stoppers (whatever they're technically called) aren't required in the commercial building code.

Bollards. At least if it is somewhat in the shape of a column.

Cost, access and aesthetics would be my guess, those things are pricier than one expects when in multiples.

Our club has two riders in the Trans Am this year. Both of them gals, and they're in Wyoming as we speak.

Janie's outpacing the womens' record at the moment!

Seems like there were floodwaters on US 26 recently, wonder if they encountered any problems.

Janie is one of the RMCC gals, and Amy is the other.

rpenmanparker 06-09-17 06:07 PM

What is a Trans Am? Who are RMCC gals?

The floodwaters? No, I think they had no problems at all.

This is self-supported. From what I understand, the hardest part about this whole thing, is finding food. This according to other club members that have done this.
