They don't proliferate nearly as much as internet sites would lead you to conclude. In MY experience, many of these very knowledgeable people are too busy to waste valuable time on the internet arguing with strangers. WTF do they gain in that?

The rest are frauds, looking to be something on the internet that they can't be in real life. And the frauds proliferate because of the gullible.

All that said, I do admire and respect the very knowledgeable cyclists that congregate on THIS site. Because of the popularity of this site the frauds tend to get weeded out over time. And I am so amazed at times at the generosity and benevolence of individuals who will share their time and knowledge with others here. It's truly admirable.

But let's be clear, if you share some knowledge and others don't agree, I'm inclined to wonder why a truly accomplished individual would waste their time arguing with an idiot. It doesn't take long to realize "Hey, I'm dealing with an idiot, let me cut my losses, I've got better things to do". It's got to be pretty important to you to hang around the internet trying to be "right" all day long.

At any rate, I've spent too much time on this, gotta run.

Yes! Go already. Get off my dress and be off with you!

I'm a big fan, too. I have a friend who refuses to go back to there but I loved it and would love to go back.

I love Rome too. It is my very favorite European capital city.

I've actually been there, too. I didn't just Google it. Let Billy know, will ya? :p

Ugh, I have a hassle with Verizon. They promised to give me a discount on my monthly charge. But it did not go through. I called them back 2 weeks ago and they apologized but could not promise to "fix" the problem. I just got another bill from them that does NOT reflect the reduced charge.

HDR can be done well, but it's gotta be subtle for me. This is about as subtle as a sledgehammer. I prefer the look of graduated filters (whether real or in post) for scenes with a wide dynamic range.

Their billing systems are a total hodgepodge of legacy/midrange. It takes them forever to effect any billing change. Same with AT&T.

Yes. HDR effects can be like eating too damned much Nutella.

Yeah I was on hold with them 3 weeks ago about the over charge, and all I was told is there is a "ticket" out on that.

I just got off the phone and the CSR told me the "ticket" is still open so she can't resolve it, but she will ask that it be expedited.

I am sorry, that is NOT good customer service. This whole "ticket" thing sounds like BS.

Zooness next door confirmed.

I have biked a lot in the state. Places like Sheetz don't compare. The only places I have visited that are comparable are some Conoco c-stores out west, but in some cases they also serve as the local grocery stores because there is nothing else close, so you would expect them to have a wider selection.

Stuckys?

I hate to bring this back to cycling, but... do any of you guys ever notice particular saddle pain after being off the bike for a week or two?

I haven't changed anything with my bibs or my saddle angle/height or whatever, but my first ride back after my trip was a 2 hour group ride on Sunday and ever since then I've had what feels like a deep bruise on my left sitbone area. It's not a saddle sore, it just feels like a bruise and is super tender. Makes riding pretty awkward, I'm sitting semi-side saddle and standing up a lot.

I'll let you know in a couple of months. :(

Were you squirrelly?

We have three demo bikes at the shop: 2 Roubaix and 1 Ruby. They were all signed out this last weekend. The Ruby rider order one. One of the Roubaix rider loved the FutureShock feature, but decided it was more important to get his GF a new bike (what a nice guy). The second Roubaix went out with one of the mechanics.

And LAJ sold Bunny a frame already, so he's out.

PepeM's nickname is Bunny?

Have you tried it? I know everyone raves about it, but I can't help but wonder if you would get the same comfort by dropping the pressure in the front tire by 10PSI and/or going a little wider width.

Bunny is another addictionite who I think is in college... Bunyanderman I think is his name.

edit fixed

Did you check to see if, perhaps, a squirrel stashed a nut in the padding?

Teenager who used to post here when he first took up cycling, really good kid. He went off to college this year so we haven't heard much from him.

If I recall, he got a bike, rode for around six months and then started racing and did pretty well right from the get-go. It was nice to see that unfold.

Speaking of nuts, I had some walnut gelatina de leche and a slice of bacon for breakfast. Yumm!
