Hub obscured by the bars tends to work for me as well. To be honest my road bike fit probably isn't ideal for me - stack is too low for my flexibility and fitness. I've been kicking around the idea of getting a new bike that's a bit taller - maybe even going to a gravel or all-road frame. Only problem is I can't get over how cool I think my current bike is and I feel like I would really regret selling it.
It's a bit chunkier than I expected but doesn't look too bad on the bike. Might look around for a bit more svelte mounting system than the supplied o-ring mount.

Methyl ethyl ketone? I worked with that stuff when I mad printed circuit boards. Nasty to breathe and is super cold as it leeches all the oils from your skin.
Also worked with Trichlorethylene in a vapor degreaser. Proven carcinogen and proven to cause brain damage but allowed to remain in use. The guys we called "scrubbers" would be stumbling around drunk on that stuff while they worked.

EDIT: TCE is sold to watchmakers and hobbyists as "One Dip", a solvent for cleaning things like the balance spring.

I started using computers in college, on a teletype terminal on the college's IBM 360. At Genentech, I worked on a CRT terminal on the VAX mainframe, using UNIX. That lasted through the 80s, till we went to Macs for most stuff but still did sequence analysis on the VAX, using termina emulation. Genentech had a lot of proprietary sequence analysis software written in UNIX by one very talented guy. After I left Genentech, it was all Macs till sometime around 2003, when the company I worked for switched the whole company to PC. I got used to it. Haven't used a Mac since.
Crazy thing is, and I've probably mentioned this before, but I started my career doing sequence analysis using command line, then went through about 20 years of GUI on Macs and then PCs. But here I am, 40 years later, doing sequence analysis using command line. Of course, now, instead of a couple hundred bases, I'm looking at the transcriptomes of hundreds of thousands of cells all at the same time.

I think it was more generic. But MEK is one of the solvents that's in the lacquer used to finish wood arrows, and it's usually applied by dipping Then you hang the arrows to dry. All that MEK in the air, sometimes in a poorly ventilated basement....

When idiot manager got fired (halleluiah) his replacement (also an idiot, but at least not as arrogant) bought me a gas caddy with a crank operated hand pump. It was the best thing any manager ever did for me there but he was just trying to cover his ass for OSHA/fire dep't.

Rough day on the Quordle.
Work-wise, our QA lead is in a mood and escalated to his boss and the dev boss, despite not having raised any concerns with us prior and misrepresenting our statements. Going to be a long day.
At least tomorrow I get to go home.

When the idiot manager drove away the tech who did all the fuel pumps it fell to me. We didn't have a safe way to drain and refill fuel tanks. I had to siphon the fuel into a drum and put it back in with a cut out coolant bottle, one scoop at a time. This led to some pretty bad headaches and feeling sick for the rest of the day.

bought a brand new KMC quick link yesterday. Before I could even put the tool on it to snap it shut, the links went together. I can squeeze this apart ad well. Must be a kmc thing. Will not be buying another KMC 9 spd chain.

One summer I was working in the warehouse of the fruit processing plant where Dad got me jobs every summer through college. One day, they gathered all the guys in the warehouse and sent us to the truck garage for an afternoon. I forget what we were doing, but OF COURSE our hands got all covered in black greasy gunk. One of the guys who worked there regularly showed us how he cleaned his hands - dip them in lacquer thinner - "till it starts to sting", then wipe off the grease, then wash with soap and water. I'm curious what happened to his liver.

The new VO frame that's supposed to come out this summer sure looks fun.
All the parts from the Holdsworth would work perfectly on one of those aside from the brake calipers, so it would pretty much cost just the price of the frameset.
But if I went to something more mixed surface capable I'd probably want to go with disc brakes, which would mean a new wheelset and brakes and would increase the cost to a prohibitive amount.

i read that the camera one has a different mount due to the higher weight. haven’t seen one in person, but both it and the madone are pretty popular so i bet there’s something out there - WheresWaldo makes a lot of fantastic 3d printed bike mounts.

I've used acetone as well on my boats. Rarely wore gloves when using it.
Acetone is what's in fingernail polish remover as well.
I also used mineral spirits to degrease the parts of my boat winches. Problem was that the gloves would dissolve in it, so I always ended up cleaning the parts bare-handed.
Liver's fine.
