Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Man. I wish Strava could figure out a way but I guess its like e-doping on the indoor sites.
They did. Stop paying for Strava and they cut you off from Segments. No more problems.

Off to the accountant/cpa/tax lady this morning.

The good news is that your income is up again this year.
The bad news is that your tax liability is up again this year.

I guess that's fair.

When did "I hope this [email] finds you well" become universal? It's insincere and annoying and sounds positively Victorian!

Mt. Hamilton Beckons

Mount Hamilton is right there, all dressed in white, just begging us to climb it. Just look at it:

Current conditions at summit:
Temperature: 27F
Wind: 22mph

Seriously?! I still want to do it.

Climbing it could be fun but coming back down would suck.

Yeah, the descent is the part I dread. A Hamilton descent is nasty when it's in the 40s.

Not me. I did Hamilton once, New Years Day 2000. The climb is long but not hard, but when I got to the top, it was cold and foggy and every stitch of clothing I had on was soaked with sweat. A dozen or so cyclists were huddled in the Post Office lobby, trying to warm up before the descent. It was one of those things that I'm glad I did it, and feel no need to do it ever again. But I do understand the draw.
