Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If the surface is good enough for gravel bikes then a gravel bike will be faster than a mountain bike. Plus a gravel bike gets close to your road position so more aero than a mtb. And drop bars are the best thing for a 6 hour day.

A mountain bike is better for rough, rocky ground. I've spent 8 hours on the mtb more than once but it was never close to 75 miles.

It's certainly possible, depending on terrain. The elite men do 200 miles at Unbound Gravel in about 10 hours.

I should have pre-hydrated (water) more before today's mowing activity.

I never liked Gordon Lightfoot's work. More of a Stan Rogers kind of guy.

Mountain bikes made for cross country can be pretty light, like 21 pounds, or so.

Another 78 degree dew point day. That led to heavy downpours yesterday.

It rained here yesterday, and I, a normal person, had no idea what the dew point was.

I drank extra when I returned home and have already recovered. No more steps needed.

Never heard of that one. I have just 33 songs in what I consider the folk-rock category, essentially 1% of my library.

Hah, we don’t have basements.

I can go into our bedroom or go upstairs - both of those systems are working. I can also jump in the pool.

Probably going to have to replace this system. That’s a nice custom Moots DA level expense. ☹️
